It is known that the heroic 341st Division (Song Lam Division) was established on November 23, 1972 in Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. From December 1972 to November 23, 1975, the Division was stationed in Quang Binh province and Vinh Linh special zone, carrying out combat missions to protect the southern area of ​​Military Region 4, and was the strategic reserve force of the Ministry of National Defense.

On February 3, 1975, in My Thuy commune, Division 341 held a ceremony to send troops to the battlefield. After that, the Division was tasked with military management and protection of Ho Chi Minh City and was praised by General Vo Nguyen Giap as "Entering the citadel as solid as a fortress"...
