On April 19, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Project to restore and embellish a number of items and works belonging to the special national historical relic site of the Southern Central Bureau Base in Tan Lap commune, Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province.
The project was approved in principle by the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province, is a group B public investment project in the field of culture and history, with a total investment of over 65.8 billion VND from the provincial budget, investment in construction and purchase and installation of equipment.
This is one of the key projects selected by the Prime Minister to start construction and inaugurate simultaneously with the whole country to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The project has renovated and repaired a number of items and works, installed modern equipment, applied digital technology in displaying artifacts, and shown documentary films using 3D mapping technology.
The new exhibition space not only contributes to preserving and promoting the value of the relic, but also creates a vivid and attractive highlight for visitors, especially the young generation, on their journey to learn about the glorious revolutionary tradition of the nation.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Hong Thanh emphasized that the historical relic of the Southern Central Bureau Base has special value.
During 15 years (1961-1975), the Central Bureau concretized many policies and decisions of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh into the revolutionary practice in the South, thereby creating many Directives, Resolutions, and Decisions on strategic lines of the Southern revolution and successfully implementing them throughout the entire Southern battlefield.
The Southern Central Bureau Base became the capital of the Southern revolution, a place that preserves the evidence and memories of the extremely arduous, sacrificial, but very proud revolutionary life of many senior Party leaders and many cadres and soldiers in the resistance war against the US to save the country.

The relic not only has special value for traditional education, but is also an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, especially for young generations of Vietnam.
Also according to Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, in recent times, the province has always tried to preserve, restore, and promote the value of the relic to show gratitude to the generations of revolutionary soldiers who lived and fought at the Southern Central Bureau base.
After two times of restoration and renovation (in 1992 and 2002), some construction items at the relic site have deteriorated. Therefore, in order to better meet the requirements of sightseeing, source, traditional education and gradually match the value of the special national historical relic, the province has led and directed the implementation of the Project.
Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Hong Thanh emphasized that after receiving the project, the Management Board of the Southern Revolutionary Historical Relic Sites needs to proactively develop an effective management and exploitation plan.
At the same time, improve service quality, continue to digitize documents, enrich and make more vivid the content introduced to tourists.
Meanwhile, tourism units and associations are interested in promoting the connection between tourism development, culture and traditional education, creating a chain of tourism returning to the source, promoting not only domestic tourists but also international tourists.
On the same day, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, and the working delegation also visited, offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Hill 82 Martyrs Cemetery and the Central Security Department Base Relic Site of the Southern Region./.
