On April 24, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital (HCMC) was officially inaugurated after more than 3 years of construction. The hospital has an investment capital of more than VND 1,915 billion and VND 1,400 billion in medical equipment and technical infrastructure to accommodate 1,000 beds.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital will be developed to become a complete grade 1 general hospital, with specialized focus on trauma emergency, endovascular intervention and soon become one of the key hospitals in the Thu Duc area.
Currently, 7 general and specialized hospitals in the Central Medical Cluster area, including Gia Dinh People's Hospital, Binh Dan Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute, Eye Hospital, Children's Hospital 2, Oncology Hospital and Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, are cooperating and supporting the transfer of specialized techniques to Thu Duc Regional General Hospital. In addition, the 115 Emergency Center also signed an agreement with Thu Duc Regional General Hospital to soon deploy a trauma emergency model on par with other countries in the region.
According to the development plan of the Ho Chi Minh City health sector, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital, together with the Oncology Hospital 2, Thu Duc City Hospital, Le Van Thinh Hospital, Le Van Viet Hospital, Eastern Military Hospital, Hoan My Thu Duc General Hospital, American International Hospital and many new general and specialized hospitals will continue to be invested in and developed in the next phase to form the Thu Duc Specialized Medical Cluster.
After coming into operation, Thu Duc Regional General Hospital will contribute to improving the quality of health care for people in the Northeastern gateway area of the City and the provinces in the Southeast region such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau...; contributing to reducing the load on hospitals in the central cluster of the City. In particular, the health sector expects Thu Duc Regional General Hospital to soon form a "Trauma Center" responsible for being the final line specializing in emergency trauma care for the Northeastern gateway area of the City.
