Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that in 2020, the city decided to move the Da Nang Museum out of the special national relic Dien Hai Citadel and use the headquarters of the Da Nang City People's Council (No. 42, 44 Bach Dang), formerly the Governor's Palace built in the 1890s, as the new Da Nang Museum. This is a decision of historical significance marking a turning point in the journey of building, preserving and promoting cultural values bearing the imprint of Da Nang heritage in particular and Quang Nam in general.
Receiving the support and consensus of the city government and people, as well as domestic historical and cultural researchers; determining the renovation and construction of the Da Nang Museum from a particularly important historical building, the city's functional agencies have conducted careful research to preserve the previous architecture in the most complete way; at the same time, the newly built areas are implemented in a modern architectural language, in harmony with the landscape, creating a unique and impressive architectural highlight on the banks of the Han River.

“The project has met the functions of a modern museum with digital technology applications that create vivid visual effects, lively approaches and interpretations, interactive spaces that connect emotions and intelligence to help visitors explore and experience for themselves, a facility to protect artifacts according to modern conservation standards; adding areas to serve the needs of community learning according to world trends... With the above changes, Da Nang Museum will become a bridge connecting events, milestones, cultural and historical values of the city with the present; nurturing pride and love for the homeland, contributing to synthesizing the endogenous strength of each citizen of the city on the threshold of a new era, an era of development", emphasized Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.

The new Da Nang Museum has been renovated and upgraded from the old building (No. 42 - 44 Bach Dang) with a total area of 8,686m2. With nearly 3,000 documents and artifacts selected from 27,000 documents and artifacts, combining traditional display style with modern projection technology; especially the application of 3D Mapping films, 3D films, documentaries and image slides to increase the experience and interaction for visitors, the Da Nang Museum opens up and guides the public to visit, experience, learn about the nature and social history of Da Nang, stories about culture as well as the aspirations of one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the City People's Committee started construction of the statue of Uncle Ho at the Da Nang General Science Library. The project aims to honor the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, responding to the sacred sentiments of the people of Da Nang towards President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the nation.
Thereby, widely propagating and educating the tradition of studiousness, fondness for reading and fostering the spirit of learning and reading for the young generations of the city, contributing to the development of reading culture, creating a red address for people and domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Da Nang to admire and remember Uncle Ho. The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the investor to actively implement the project to ensure the quality and progress set out, completing it on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the birth of beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
