Khanh Hoa is preparing to welcome a large number of Russian tourists starting March 16th.

Kinhtedothi - From March 16th, Anex Vietnam will reopen charter flights connecting 11 cities in Russia with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa .

On March 4th, Nguyen Duc Tan, General Director of Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited (Anex Vietnam), announced that in order to restore and expand the international tourism market, from March 16th, 2025, Anex Vietnam will officially resume charter flights connecting 11 cities in Russia with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

At the same time, the company will also expand its flight routes to Phu Quoc, offering more attractive options for Russian tourists visiting Vietnam.

Specifically, Anex Vietnam will cooperate with Azur Air to operate charter flights bringing Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa. These charter flights will be operated by Azur Air LLC, using Boeing 757, Boeing 767, and Boeing 777 aircraft. The flights will connect to Khanh Hoa with the cities of Moscow, Barnaul, Tomsk, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, and Irkutsk.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, the expected number of passengers on a Boeing 757 is 238 per flight; a Boeing 767 is 336 per flight; and a Boeing 777 is approximately 531 per flight. The frequency of flights in March 2025 will be 12 flights, and from April to June 2025, it will be about 50-55 flights per month. From July 2025 onwards, there will be 90-100 flights per month.

“The first flight will depart from Irkutsk and is expected to land at Cam Ranh airport on March 17th with 238 passengers. This is an important milestone marking the strong return of the Russian tourism market in Vietnam. This will contribute to the recovery and development of international tourism in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa," Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan shared.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, Russian tourists visiting Khanh Hoa will stay in 3-5 star establishments for 5 days or more. Therefore, Anex Vietnam has worked with 3-5 star accommodation establishments in Khanh Hoa that fully meet the business requirements for tourism accommodation recognized by the authorities to serve Russian tourists. At the same time, Anex Vietnam will also establish hotlines to support tourists, service providers, and local authorities.

According to statistics, in 2024, Khanh Hoa welcomed over 105,500 Russian tourists, which is 22.8% compared to 2019 - the peak period when 463,000 Russian tourists visited Khanh Hoa, accounting for over 71% of the total number of Russian tourists to Vietnam that year (646,524 tourists).

Russia has traditionally been a major international tourist market for Khanh Hoa province. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, direct flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa have been suspended since the beginning of 2022. Consequently, Russians wishing to travel to Khanh Hoa must fly via transit through countries such as Kazakhstan and China.
