Kinhtedothi - From March 16, Anex Vietnam reopened charter flights connecting 11 Russian cities with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
On March 4, General Director of Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited (Anex Vietnam) Nguyen Duc Tan said that in order to restore and expand the international tourism market, from March 16, 2025, Anex Vietnam will officially resume charter flights connecting 11 Russian cities with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
At the same time, the Company will also expand flights to Phu Quoc, bringing more attractive options for Russian tourists when coming to Vietnam.
Specifically, Anex Vietnam will cooperate with Azur Air to operate charter flights to bring Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa. The charter flights are operated by Azur Air LLC, using a fleet of Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Boeing 777 aircraft. The flights will go to the cities of Moscow, Barnaul, Tomsk, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk with Khanh Hoa.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, the number of passengers on Boeing 757 is expected to be 238 passengers/flight; Boeing 767 336 passengers/flight; Boeing 777 about 531 passengers/flight. The frequency of operation in March 2025 is 12 flights and from April to June 2025 about 50-55 flights/month. From July 2025 onwards, there will be 90-100 flights/month.
“The first flight will depart from Irkutsk, expected to land at Cam Ranh airport on March 17 with 238 passengers. This is an important milestone marking the strong return of the Russian tourism market in Vietnam. Thereby, contributing to promoting the recovery and development of the international tourism industry in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tan, Russian tourists coming to Khanh Hoa will stay at 3-5 star establishments for 5 days or more. Therefore, Anex Vietnam has worked with 3-5 star accommodations in Khanh Hoa, fully meeting the conditions for tourism accommodation business recognized by the authorities to serve Russian tourists. At the same time, Anex Vietnam will also set up hotlines to support tourists, service providers and local authorities.
According to statistics, in 2024, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 105,500 Russian visitors, equal to 22.8% compared to 2019 - the peak period when 463,000 Russian visitors came to Khanh Hoa, accounting for over 71% of the total number of Russian visitors to Vietnam in the year (646,524 visitors).
Russia is a traditional international tourist market of Khanh Hoa. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, direct flights from Russia to Khanh Hoa have been suspended since the beginning of 2022. Accordingly, Russians who want to travel to Khanh Hoa must transit through some countries such as Kazakhstan, China, etc.
