The forum was divided into 3 sessions with 22 presentations. Scientists and delegates exchanged results and experiences in scientific research to consolidate and strengthen the close relationship between the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and China, which are facing many challenges and opportunities in the new era.
The presentations all affirmed that Marxist theory plays an important role in the history of human society and is still alive and spreading in the 21st century. Many countries, political parties and political, economic and social movements have been applying Marxist theory as a guideline for their activities.
The discussions also emphasized that only by developing a more advanced, modern and efficient productive force than the capitalist regime can the elements or conditions for advancing to socialism be built. The Party and Government of Vietnam, Laos and China have applied Marxist theory as a torch to light the way and as a compass in protecting and developing the country, to gradually advance to the path of socialism according to the characteristics, nature and features of each country.
Speaking at the forum, Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Minh Tuan, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, said that specific social models built on the theoretical foundation of Marx have in common the high ability to adapt, and can meet the strict requirements and demands of reality. Socialism is not only a path to achieve material prosperity, but also aims at a harmonious and sustainable society, where people share, cooperate with each other, live in harmony with each other and are friendly with the surrounding environment.

The great achievements in economic development, solving social development issues, improving the material and spiritual life of the people in the past two decades in Vietnam, Laos and China are clear evidence of the correctness and strong vitality of Marxism in the 21st century. The forum is not only an opportunity for the three countries to look back on their achievements, but also an opportunity for the three countries to jointly orient the future in terms of theory.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Ta Minh Tuan, the dedicated research and analysis at all three discussion sessions provided a fresh and realistic perspective on the development of Marxism and socialism in today's era. The scientists discussed not only the successes but also many problems that Laos, China and Vietnam are facing, suggesting solutions to continue to further revive Marxism in the 21st century.
He believes that the Forum will further promote the study of Marxism, while continuing to affirm and consolidate the solid position of Marxism in the common theoretical treasure of humanity. The results from the Forum will be compiled and sent to policy-making agencies of each country, thereby contributing to the orientation of policies and decisions on harmonious and sustainable socio-economic development in each country.
