(kontumtv.vn) – After the Kon Tum Provincial Media Center reported on the environmental pollution caused by the Thien Thanh Tai High-Tech Pig Farm in Khok Klong village, Ro Koi commune, Sa Thay district, the provincial Department of Agriculture recently inspected and issued a record requesting the Farm to promptly and fully implement the environmental protection measures it had committed to.

Through inspection, the Farm is currently raising about 24,000 commercial pigs. The legal documents as prescribed have been fully completed by the Farm. The closed wastewater treatment process in the livestock area is according to standards, no livestock wastewater is discharged into the environment. The Farm is fully implementing disease prevention and control measures as prescribed. The cause of the foul smell is that when exporting pigs, the transportation process passes through the area where people are farming; partly due to the recent hot weather, the foul smell is diffused in the direction of the wind.

To promptly handle people's feedback, the provincial Department of Agriculture requested Thien Thanh Tai Farm to continue to fully and promptly implement environmental protection measures according to the committed environmental impact assessment records; regularly inspect and review the entire wastewater treatment system and odor treatment system; use chemicals and biological products to treat manure and wastewater to minimize odors in the livestock area, without affecting people's lives and health. At the same time, use drugs to kill insects such as flies, mosquitoes, ticks, and gnats and closely monitor the disease situation in the pig herd./.
