On the afternoon of September 20, speaking with Dan Viet reporter , Mr. Mong Dinh Tinh - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province said that due to the influence of storm No. 3, from September 9 to 12, heavy and very heavy rain occurred in Dinh Hoa district.
"Heavy rain has caused landslides and cut-offs on many roads, especially the road leading to Lang Bay hamlet, Tan Duong commune, which has suffered serious landslides, cutting off and completely isolating the area," said Mr. Tinh.

For more information, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Vice Chairman of Tan Duong Commune People's Committee emphasized that immediately after the road to Lang Bay hamlet was eroded, the commune made a report and sent it to the district to request a solution.

Along with that, the commune also sent functional forces including police and militia to the scene to grasp the damage situation, promptly supply food and necessities to help people overcome the immediate difficulties. At the same time, households in dangerous areas were evacuated to safe areas to ensure people's lives and property.
The local government has also mobilized some equipment and machinery to level the road as soon as possible so that people can travel again with the spirit of "wherever it goes, do it as soon as possible". Up to this point, there are only 2km left until the road is cleared.

"On the very first day of the landslide, the commune leaders directed the forces to directly carry out the leveling and clearing of the road, but due to the large volume of landslides, the hamlet was 4km long while 6km of road had to be leveled to reach the hamlet center, so the recovery work encountered many difficulties and took a lot of time," said Ms. Huong, emphasizing, "However, with the active and urgent participation and maximum mobilization of forces, up to this point, after 7 days of mobilizing 3 land leveling machines to clear the road, cars have been able to reach the center of Lang Bay hamlet."

According to the report of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Tan Duong commune, from September 8 to 12, 2024, there was prolonged heavy rain in the commune, affecting a number of houses, crops, and livestock of local people. An estimated 110,000m3 of land was eroded. 12 houses were damaged by landslides and had to be relocated.

According to the report, prolonged heavy rains caused flooding and landslides in the houses of 247 households in Tan Tien 1, Tan Tien 2, Tan Tien 3, Tan Tien 4, Hop Thanh, Ken Duong, Tan Hop, Trang hamlet, Cooc hamlet, and Lang Bay hamlet.
At the same time, the slope of 43 households (volume of about 30,000 m3) collapsed, of which 12 houses were damaged and had to be relocated, and the slope of the traffic road collapsed with a volume of about 80,000 m3 . The total estimated damage is about 2.6 billion VND.
