The market is 'thirsty' for high-quality IT human resources
Information technology is developing with the times, always in the hot industry group with high income. Therefore, human resources in this industry are required to constantly update technology trends, knowledge, and practice every day to not be "left behind" in the 4.0 era.
According to statistics from DxReports, the proportion of human resources in the information technology industry in Vietnam is estimated at about 1.1% of the current total of 51 million workers. At the same time, TopDev's human resources report also said that the demand for human resources in the Information Technology (IT) industry in Vietnam is continuously increasing. It is forecasted that from 2022 to 2024, Vietnam will still have a shortage of 150,000 - 195,000 programmers/engineers annually. Notably, currently only 35% of the 57,000 IT students meet the requirements of businesses, the rest need to be retrained.
Despite attractive salaries ranging from 13.8 to 25 million and 30 to 50 million VND depending on years of experience, human resources still cannot meet the speed of technological development and input requirements from businesses. This shows that the quality of human resource training to meet market needs is an issue that needs to be resolved soon.
Representative of ATCollabo Center, Ms. Nguyen Hoang Anh shared: “Most businesses face difficulties in recruiting IT human resources with input quality and the ability to quickly catch up with the team. However, in reality, businesses often have to spend resources including human resources, finance and training time for new employees. This affects the growth rate and competitiveness of the business.”
Bridge from school to business
“Students often have a gap in practical knowledge between the theory at school and the requirements of employers. Therefore, the role of businesses as a bridge between IT training at school and the labor market helps ensure that human resources are trained in accordance with actual requirements and contribute to the sustainable development of the information technology industry,” Ms. Nguyen Hoang Anh shared.
Faced with the increasing demand for IT human resources, and at the same time requiring the quality of human resources to meet recruitment requirements, ATCollabo Technology School, led by lecturers from prestigious Korean universities, engineers at Korean startup centers, in collaboration with a team of experts in Vietnam, opens training courses for the digital human resource generation with very attractive majors today such as Game Programming (Unity, Unreal, VFX); Full stack Web Programming; Artificial Intelligence (AI, ML, DL); Data Science; Programming for children (Robotics, Drone, VR, AR, Scratch) ... In particular, the Backend Rookie Hackathon 2023 program focuses on practical training for Backend workers, a position that technology businesses always need.
“I believe that equipping students with knowledge to anticipate trends and practical skills will help them become the core digital human resources of the market, and increase their competitiveness, which is becoming increasingly fierce in the future,” said Ms. Nguyen Hoang Anh.
