Juventus likes Son Tung M-TP?
From Juventus, West Ham to the FIFA World Cup,… TikTok accounts of famous football teams and sports organizations have repeatedly posted videos using Vietnamese songs as background music with captions also in Vietnamese.
For example, Juventus Club used the background music of the song "Don't make my heart hurt" by singer Son Tung M-TP. West Ham Club used the song "This way" by singer Cara, or FIFA World Cup used the song "Canh hoa vat mat" performed by singer Truong The Vinh.
Below the videos, many users expressed excitement: "Vietnamese music has reached the world"; others had the same question: "Is the channel administrator Vietnamese?".
Browsing TikTok, I thought they were all videos posted on accounts created by fans in Vietnam, but no, they were all genuine blue ticks.
The song "Don't Make My Heart Hurt" by singer Son Tung M-TP is used as the background music for a video on the TikTok account of the Juventus team.
Previously, songs like "Magical friendship", "Body shaming" or "See love" also appeared many times in videos of foreign football clubs.
Many users in Vietnam mistakenly believe that these videos are posted in a normal format for a global audience to access, but in reality, this is not the case. It is easy to see that in the comments section of these videos, there are mainly responses from Vietnamese users, with very few comments from international users.
In fact, this is just a TikTok feature that helps videos reach more users. A representative of TikTok Vietnam said that this is a feature customized by geographic region, applied to business accounts. That means that with videos using this feature, only audiences in the selected country/territory can see and access that video.
'The brother who overcame thousands of obstacles' caught Facebook's eye
Posting videos with such versions is to help the content on this platform have a closer, more friendly approach to the culture and interests of fans in each country/region; thereby attracting more supporters of the team.
Foreign football club follows Vietnamese music trend: 'I'm not the only one'
This feature is also applied by Facebook, like the way FIFA World Cup called the Argentina team "the brothers who overcame thousands of thorns" not long before.
FIFA Facebook posted a photo with a Vietnamese caption
The platform leverages demographics, location, and interests to target users. Once targeted, Facebook delivers content to groups of users that match these criteria.
