Does Juventus like Son Tung M-TP?
From Juventus and West Ham to the FIFA World Cup, the TikTok accounts of famous football teams and sports organizations have repeatedly featured videos using Vietnamese songs as background music, along with captions also in Vietnamese.
For example, Juventus FC used the song "Don't Break My Heart" by singer Son Tung M-TP as background music. West Ham FC used "This Way" by singer Cara, and the FIFA World Cup used "The Flower Petal That Vanished" performed by singer Truong The Vinh.
Below the videos, many users expressed excitement: "Vietnamese music has reached the world stage!"; others shared the same question: "Is the channel administrator Vietnamese?".
Scrolling through TikTok, you might think all the videos are uploaded to fan accounts in Vietnam, but no, they're all verified accounts with a blue checkmark.
The song "Don't Break My Heart" by singer Son Tung M-TP was used as background music for a video on the Juventus team's TikTok account.
Previously, songs like "Magical Friendship," "Body Shaming," and "See Love" have also appeared numerous times in videos of foreign football clubs.
Many users in Vietnam mistakenly believe that these videos are posted in a conventional format accessible to a global audience, but this is not actually the case. It's easy to see in the comments section of these videos that most of the feedback comes from Vietnamese users, with very few comments from international users.
In reality, this is just a TikTok feature that helps videos reach more users. A representative from TikTok Vietnam stated that this is a geographic-based customization feature, applied to business accounts. This means that videos using this feature will only be seen and accessed by viewers in the selected country/region.
'Brother who overcame a thousand obstacles' catches Facebook's eye.
Uploading videos in such versions aims to make the content on this platform more accessible and friendly to the culture and preferences of fans in each country/region; thereby attracting more supporters for the team.
Foreign football club follows Vietnamese music trend: 'You are not the only one'
This feature has also been adopted by Facebook, similar to how the FIFA World Cup referred to the Argentinian team as "brothers who overcame countless obstacles" not long ago.
FIFA's Facebook page posted an image with a Vietnamese caption.
This platform leverages demographic criteria, location, and user interests to target specific user groups. Once targeted, Facebook distributes content to those groups that match these criteria.
