Located amidst the majestic and wild mountain scenery, Dak Ruoi waterfall is one of the ideal destinations for those who love to explore the mountains and forests of Kon Tum.

Dak Ruoi Waterfall is located on Dak Trot stream, in Dak Poi village, Dak Glei town, Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province, about 11km from the town center. This is one of the waterfalls that still retains its wild beauty with many successive waterfalls forming a long white streak like a soft silk strip hanging down in the middle of the deep green forest.
In recent years, people in Dak Glei district often come to the waterfall to have fun and relax on weekends after stressful working days.
To get to the waterfall, from Dak Glei town, it took me nearly 30 minutes by motorbike. Because the road to the waterfall is a dirt road, many sections have been eroded by floods and rain, and there are many “potholes”, so it is a bit inconvenient to travel. If you go by car, you cannot reach the foot of the waterfall and have to travel about 2km more from the parking location.
The route to Dak Ruoi waterfall is also the route to the main production area of Dak Poi and Dak Tung villages (Dak Glei town), so it is very deserted. However, if you want to experience the waterfall, you should prepare enough food and drinks because there are no shops along the way to the waterfall.
On both sides of the road to the waterfall, there are many green trees, undulating mountains, and winding streams. Occasionally, there are some huts of the locals where you can stop to rest and enjoy the scenery. In particular, on the way to the waterfall, there are ancient banyan tree roots, intertwined and stuck together to form a tall, strange-looking gate.

Although the waterfall is located deep in the primeval forest, because the stream flows down from the high mountains, the top layer of the waterfall can be seen from a great distance. The waterfall is located at an altitude of more than 800 meters above sea level, surrounded on all sides by immense primeval forests, where there is a thick layer of vegetation and dense tree populations that filter, retain water, and regulate water from the top of the high mountains. Therefore, the stream here has a stable water source, never dries up, and the water is clear all year round.
Due to the large terrain and the large difference in height, the water flowing down from the waterfall levels is very strong, emitting a deep and majestic sound. The water hits the rocks at the foot of the waterfall, creating a white, misty, misty spray that makes the scene even more charming and poetic.
Along the flow, the water also creates many large and small waterfalls and forms cool lakes. You can freely swim and soak in the lake to cool off. Around the lakes, there are many large and small rocks, with different shapes stacked on top of each other, interspersed with forest trees. Along with that is the clear, cool water, the sound of trickling water, and in the distance, the sound of forest birds chirping. All of these combine to make this place peaceful, close, and able to dispel the worries and troubles of life.
Mr. A Klay (52 years old), deputy head of Dak Poi village, said that the waterfall has 5 floors, each floor is on average 20 - 40m high, the top floor is the highest, about 50m. The waterfall is associated with his childhood and many generations of villagers. Until now, he still goes with the young people of Dak Poi village to bathe, catch fish and often brings visitors here to visit and experience.
The best season to visit Dak Ruoi waterfall is from November to April. At this time, the rainy season has ended, the water is not too "fierce", the water is always clear and cool. The area at the foot of the waterfall has many large rocks, which is an ideal stop for camping, organizing picnics and cooling off on hot days.

“The number of visitors to the waterfall is often crowded on holidays and weekends. They come here mainly to bathe, cook, eat and participate in group activities. In addition, in recent years, the people of Dak Poi village have become more and more aware of obeying the law, determined to preserve the forest and landscape around the waterfall with the hope that tourism here will develop more and more. The wish of the people of Dak Poi is that the local government pay attention to building roads so that people and tourists can access the waterfall conveniently and safely,” Mr. A Klay added.
It is known that recently, assigned by the Town Party Committee, the Dak Glei Town Youth Union has implemented a youth project at Dak Ruoi Waterfall. The project includes building rest huts and regularly cleaning up the area, ensuring that it is always green - clean - beautiful to form an attractive and peaceful tourist destination that attracts people and tourists to visit and picnic.
With its poetic and wild beauty like a masterpiece bestowed by nature, Dak Ruoi waterfall is gradually becoming an ideal destination for "believers" who love to explore. However, when coming to the waterfall at this time, visitors need to consider using skin care products or insect repellent products and limit staying overnight, cultivate necessary knowledge when going to the forest, wading through streams to have safe and interesting trips.
