Over 600 years old, Truong Luu ancient village (Kim Song Truong commune, Can Loc district - Ha Tinh) owns a system of unique relics, including: Phuc Giang school woodblocks, Hoang Hoa su trinh do, and Truong Luu village Han Nom documents recognized by UNESCO as world heritages.

According to Professor Nguyen Huy My, the entrance to the ancient village of Truong Luu started from the Quan bridge area, the bridge over the Phuc Giang river, the stream flows into the Nghen river and flows down to the sea through today's Sot gate.

The Phuc Giang River used to be about 20m wide, associated with the legend that King Ho Quy Ly once brought his navy to conduct military exercises here. The river's name was also used by the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh to name the library he founded: Phuc Giang Library. Currently, the river has been silted up and is gradually narrowing. Located on the Phuc Giang River, about 300m from the village gate, is the hundreds-year-old Ngoc Well, famous for its cool and sweet water, used for drinking and daily activities for the people of Truong Luu. Legend has it that Mrs. Phan Thi Truu (mother of the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh) was carrying water at night when she suddenly saw a star shining brightly in the water bucket. She told her husband and drank all the water in the bucket. After that, she became pregnant and gave birth to Nguyen Huy Oanh, a talented person later on.

Located in the system of ancient village relics of Truong Luu, we cannot fail to mention the national historical and cultural relics of Nguyen Huy Oanh and Nguyen Huy Tu Church (also known as Luc Chi Church). The church was built by the third-ranking scholar Nguyen Huy Oanh in 1752 to worship his father, Nguyen Huy Tuu (1690 - 1750).

Nguyen Huy Oanh (1713 - 1789), whose given name was Kinh Hoa, and whose pen name was Luu Trai, was a resident of Thien Nam. He passed the provincial examination at Nghe An at the age of 20, was appointed as an official, and then gradually promoted to the position of District Chief of Truong Khanh. In 1748, Nguyen Huy Oanh passed the third-rank exam, was appointed as a lecturer in the Trinh Doanh Lord's palace, and concurrently held the position of Han Lam Vien Dai Che, and was once a lecturer and then a rector of the Imperial Academy.

In 1761, he was awarded the third rank to receive the Qing Dynasty envoy, and in 1765 he became the Chief Envoy to China. In 1768, he was promoted to the position of Right Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and then Minister of the Ministry of Public Works. In 1783, Nguyen Huy Oanh resigned from his position as Tham Tung (the right to manage government affairs) and returned to his hometown. Here, he established the Phuc Giang Library and opened a school called Truong Luu School.

The famous Nguyen Huy Tu (1743-1790) was the son of Nguyen Huy Oanh. In 1759, he passed the 5th provincial examination at Nghe school at the age of 17. He served as an official for the Le dynasty for a short time, then left his official position to join the Tay Son dynasty and King Quang Trung in defeating the invading Qing army. Later, Nguyen Huy Tu returned to his hometown to live in seclusion with his father, the third-ranked Nguyen Huy Oanh, to build Phuc Giang School. He left behind many valuable literary works, most notably The Tale of the Fairy.

The highlight of Nguyen Huy Oanh and Nguyen Huy Tu churches is the two doctoral steles of two famous people, erected in 1772 and 1848 respectively. The two doctoral steles have the same form as the doctoral steles at Quoc Tu Giam.

Here are preserved many artifacts related to the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh and Nguyen Huy Tu, hundreds of years old, such as: the palanquin given by the king when the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh returned home to pay respect to his ancestors.

The historical and cultural relic of Nguyen Huy Ho Church was ranked at the national level by the Ministry of Culture and Information in 2001. Nguyen Huy Ho (1783 - 1841) was one of the sons of Nguyen Huy Tu, the nephew of the great poet Nguyen Du.

He was famous for being “well-versed in astronomy and geography” and good at medicine. In 1823, Nguyen Huy Ho was summoned by King Minh Mang to the capital Hue to work as a royal physician, and also as a Linh dai lang at the Imperial Astronomical Observatory. Truong Luu communal house was built around the beginning of the 18th century, with a king-shaped structure consisting of 3 buildings: the Upper Court, the Middle Court and the Lower Court, with elaborate carvings in the style of the Later Le Dynasty. In 2008, the Provincial People's Committee ranked the communal house as a provincial-level architectural and artistic relic.

Nguyen Huy Than Ancient House (1819-?) was built by him during the reign of King Minh Mang to worship his father Nguyen Huy Vinh (1770 - 1818). This is one of 10 ancient houses in Truong Luu that still preserves many Han Nom heritages such as horizontal lacquered boards and parallel sentences. Nguyen Huy Than Ancient House was recognized as a provincial relic in 2021.
