From the center of Phan Thiet city to Hon Rom on route 706, visitors will see sand dunes like the Sahara desert. In particular, the coastal terrain of Binh Thuan with its existing sandbanks and sand dunes is based on many factors affecting each stretch of the coast. Because the terrain is divided by the end of the Truong Son range jutting out into the sea, it creates many large and small rocky capes, interspersed between the rocky capes are various types of terrain such as sand dunes and coastal saline soil.

The flying sand dunes in Mui Ne ward (Phan Thiet city) have long attracted a large number of tourists to visit and admire, in addition to the magical natural scenery, but also because of the unique experiences only available on the sand dunes. Coming to the flying sand dunes tourist area, you can leisurely walk barefoot on the fine sand, feeling like you are walking in a real desert. Stretching for many kilometers, the area of Mui Ne flying sand dunes spreads dozens of hectares, with a wild character. The sand surface is sometimes flat, sometimes folded regularly like layers of waves, occasionally you can see a few clumps of wild grass growing sparsely like natural highlights. The Golden Sand Dunes have many colors such as: red, white, pink, gray-white, red-black... in which red and yellow sand colors account for the majority of this sand dunes, other colors are only small parts. Each sand color is located in different areas and does not mix together, so it is easy to distinguish. The overall sand dunes are not actually red because of the sand, but because the sunlight reflects off the sand at sunset, creating a red background covering the sand dunes.

Standing on the sand dunes, you will feel the rare cool breeze on the Flying Sand Dunes and freely gaze at the poetic and charming beauty of the beautiful beaches in Mui Ne. If visitors stand to enjoy the sand dunes from dawn to dusk, they will see the sand dunes change color (from light yellow - dark yellow - red yellow ... according to the time of day) and change shape (ripples, crescents, flat shapes ...) that visitors often compare to flying sand dunes. Observe carefully to see the magic of Mui Ne's golden sand dunes. This place is also known as Mui Ne Golden Sand Dunes or Mui Ne Pink Sand Dunes, because the sand here has a dominant yellow color and some angles turn pink under the sunlight, however, if you look closely, the sand is mixed with many other colors such as dark red, light red, orange, gray white, ivory white ... Thanks to that, talented artisans have created artistic sand paintings with many vivid colors.

Tourists enjoy hot tofu from street vendors.

The favorite point and also considered a "specialty" of this sand hill is the exciting experience of sandboarding. The feeling of sitting on the legendary mica board and sliding down from a high place on the fine sand with the speed of the wind will be an unforgettable experience during your trip to Phan Thiet. The price to rent a board is from 10,000 - 20,000 / board that can accommodate up to 3 people. This is an interesting experience not to be missed at this attractive destination. Before starting to sandboard, visitors will be enthusiastically instructed by the board rental staff on the basic operations. The exciting feeling of sandboarding here will definitely make you remember it forever and want to conquer higher sand hills even more. However, according to our experience, at noon the sand here is very hot, so visitors should consider sliding in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid burning feet. Regarding food, there are only street vendors selling hot tofu mixed with coconut milk and various types of sandwiches, soft drinks and the specialty “3-cut coconut” of the Thien Nghiep – Ham Tien – Mui Ne coconut region sold at the foot of the hill. After a period of exercising with fun games, enjoying a refreshing coconut to quench your thirst or tasting the specialties here will be beautiful memories for your visit and experience at this beautiful sand hill.
