Explore the magical ocean with scuba diving

NDO – This summer, tours that combine scuba diving to see fish, coral reefs and capture impressive photos are becoming more and more popular, attracting tourists to come and experience the beautiful, pristine seas and islands across Vietnam.

Returning to Hanoi after a diving trip off the coast of Son Tra Peninsula (Da Nang), Ms. Pham Tuyet Nhung (38 years old) shared on social media many beautiful images and videos in the middle of the ocean and received great attention and interaction from friends and followers. Many accounts commented that they had been to Da Nang but did not know about this activity and affirmed that they would try it on their next trip.

Ms. Tuyet Nhung said she learned to dive at a swimming pool in Hanoi for nearly 2 months. When she learned about the diving tour in Da Nang through a clip with millions of “likes” on Tik Tok, she bought the tour for 1.5 million VND, lasting 4 hours, with a one-on-one tour guide. She and her group of friends made an appointment for the next diving spot to be Phu Quy Island (also known as Thu Islet) in Binh Thuan.

Like Ms. Tuyet Nhung, Ms. Truong Thuy Dung (33 years old) proactively learned to dive because of her passion for the impressive, shimmering footage of the world under the ocean. Having not yet visited famous diving destinations abroad, Ms. Thuy Dung chose to explore Binh Hung Island (Khanh Hoa), Phu Quy Island (Binh Thuan) and plans to visit Co To Island (Quang Ninh).

“At sea, going deep is both more difficult and takes longer than at a practice pool, and the anxiety in the middle of the vast water is also an obstacle. On a trip to an island, I asked a local friend to take me diving to see the seaweed forest, but he was only good at swimming and not a professional diving instructor, so it was difficult to support me. I had an unforgettable experience drifting in the middle of the sea,” said Thuy Dung.

In Da Nang city, many people know Mr. Dao Dang Cong Trung (born in 1980, Son Tra district) not only because he is an experienced expert in the local tourism industry, but also because he is a veteran scuba diving instructor, initiating many useful movements such as teaching diving to children, scuba diving to pick up trash...

Notably, diving clubs in Da Nang regularly call on and organize members and tourists to join hands in environmental protection activities.

Currently, there are two basic types of diving: scuba diving and free diving. In Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and most famous coastal tourist areas, there are centers that open professional diving training courses, provide international standard diving equipment, and issue certificates from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or the Scuba Diving Society International (SSI). If you do not pursue this sport long-term and professionally, visitors can still choose diving tours in shallow water in the "check-in" style, with a team of safety instructors and filming and photography services.
