NDO – This summer, tours combining snorkeling to see fish and coral reefs and capture stunning photos are becoming increasingly popular, attracting tourists to experience the pristine beauty of the seas and islands throughout Vietnam.

Returning to Hanoi after a diving trip off the coast of Son Tra Peninsula (Da Nang), Pham Tuyet Nhung (38 years old) shared many stunning photos and videos of herself in the ocean on social media, receiving great attention and interaction from friends and followers. Many commented that they had been to Da Nang but were unaware of this activity and affirmed that they would try it on their next trip.

Despite having traveled to many coastal areas both domestically and internationally, Ms. Tuyet Nhung affirms that the moment of diving to a depth of 3-5 meters to witness schools of fish and coral reefs firsthand is still filled with unique emotions. (Photo: Provided by the interviewee)

Ms. Tuyet Nhung said she had been learning to dive at a swimming pool in Hanoi for nearly two months. After learning about diving tours in Da Nang through a viral TikTok video, she bought a tour for 1.5 million VND, lasting four hours with one-on-one instruction. She and her friends had planned their next diving destination to be Phu Quy Island (also known as Thu Island) in Binh Thuan province .

Like Ms. Tuyet Nhung, Ms. Truong Thuy Dung (33 years old) proactively learned scuba diving because of her passion for the stunning and impressive footage of the underwater world. Having not yet visited famous diving destinations abroad, Ms. Thuy Dung chose to explore Binh Hung Island (Khanh Hoa), Phu Quy Island (Binh Thuan), and plans to visit Co To Island (Quang Ninh).

“In the open sea, going deep is much more difficult and time-consuming than in a training pool, and the anxiety of being in the vast ocean is also a hindrance. On one trip to an island, I asked a local friend to take me snorkeling to see the seaweed, but she was only good at swimming and diving, not a professional diving instructor, so it was very difficult for her to assist me. I had an unforgettable experience drifting aimlessly at sea,” Thuy Dung recounted.

In Da Nang city, many people know Mr. Dao Dang Cong Trung (born in 1980, Son Tra district) not only because he is an experienced expert in the local tourism industry, but also because he is a skilled scuba diving instructor who has initiated many beneficial movements such as teaching scuba diving to children, scuba diving to collect trash, etc.

Notably, scuba diving clubs in Da Nang regularly call upon and organize members and tourists to participate in environmental protection activities.

“The areas around Hon Sup, Son Tra (Da Nang) and Cu Lao Cham (Quang Nam) still have many pristine coral reefs and incredibly rich marine life, which have recently attracted the attention of many young people who have signed up for diving tours to explore them,” said Dao Dang Cong Trung. Currently, there are two basic types of scuba diving: scuba diving and free diving. In Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and most popular coastal tourist areas, there are centers offering professional scuba diving training courses, providing international standard diving equipment, and issuing certificates from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or the Society of Scuba Diving International (SSI). Alternatively, if you don't intend to pursue this sport long-term and professionally, you can still choose shallow-water diving tours for "check-in" purposes, with safety guides and opportunities for filming and photography.

According to many tourists, scuba diving not only provides interesting knowledge but also fosters environmental awareness and appreciation for the sea and islands of their homeland.

These include: Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Phu Quy (Binh Thuan), Cu Lao Cham (Quang Nam), Hon Yen (Phu Yen), Con Dao (Ba Ria-Vung Tau), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Ly Son (Quang Ngai), Hon Kho Island (Binh Dinh), Vinh Hy Bay (Ninh Thuan), and many more.
