This special kapok tree, which is over a decade old, is located in the historical relic site of Long Dong Temple, Nam Tan Commune (Nam Sach). Unlike normal kapok trees that produce red flowers, the kapok tree here blooms with clusters of bright yellow flowers every season. Long Dong Temple is one of the historical relics associated with the tradition of studiousness and mandarin examinations of Hai Duong. The temple worships three famous figures in Vietnamese history: Mac Hien Tich, Mac Kien Quan and Mac Dinh Chi - talented people who have made great contributions to the development of national education and culture. The temple also worships the heroine Mac Thi Buoi. The temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1995. Having been taking care of the relic site for 5 years, Mr. Mac Xuan Duc said: "This kapok tree was planted around 2009 by the descendants of the Mac family. Initially, there were 2 kapok trees brought back from Pha Lai ward (Chi Linh), but only the tree planted in the temple had yellow flowers." For the past 3 years, every blooming season, the kapok tree has impressed with its strange, rare yellow color. According to Mr. Duc, when first planted, the kapok tree had only one trunk. However, due to being eaten by worms, the trunk developed into two branches. Over time, the two trunks grew tall, intertwined naturally, and grew steadily over the years, creating a unique and rare shape. The soft yellow sunlight shines through the tree canopy, the flowers shimmer in the wind, creating a beautiful natural picture. The yellow cotton flowers are in full bloom, flocks of birds are chirping, blending into the poetic space. Sparrows and woodpeckers are hopping on the branches, pecked at each sweet flower pistil. The chirping of birds echoes and blends with the faint scent of flowers, making the sacred scene here even more peaceful. The two-trunk kapok tree blooming with yellow flowers in Long Dong not only creates a beautiful landscape with flowers like bright yellow bells, but also has a profound cultural meaning. The image of a tree with two trunks attached to each other, protecting each other over the years is a symbol of sustainability, connection and respect for traditional values.SUCCESS
