Discover cultural colors on Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day

From April 18 to 21, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi, "Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day" was held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It is expected that more than 300 people, 54 ethnic groups from 63 provinces and cities will participate in activities at the Village , including about 100 ethnic Chinese, Khmer, Kinh people from Soc Trang province; Dao people (Thanh Hoa province) and Ede people (Dak Lak province).

Within the framework of the Festival, the Village will hold a Conference to honor village elders, village chiefs, artisans, and prestigious people with many achievements in preserving, maintaining, and promoting traditional cultural values ​​in the locality. At the same time, the Ceremony to Report Achievements, visit President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and meet with Party and State leaders will take place on April 19 at President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the headquarters of Party and State leaders.

At the Village, a number of performance activities introducing local heritage and culture are organized such as the Soc Trang Provincial Cultural Tourism Festival with activities recreating the Lantern Fighting Ceremony of the Chinese ethnic group, cultural and artistic exchanges such as performing Ngu Am music, Schay Dam drums, teaching Rom vong dance, Chan dance, playing the flute, performing Ro bam, Rom vong dance...

There is also a program introducing the performance of Don ca tai tu art - a representative cultural heritage of humanity.

Within the framework of the Festival, there is a space to introduce and practice traditional crafts with activities to introduce and demonstrate the Pia cake making profession of the Chinese people in Soc Trang, the profession of painting on glass, introducing and promoting tourism, cuisine, photo exhibition and displaying OCOP products of Soc Trang province.

In addition, at the Festival, there are also activities to recreate the groom's procession in the wedding ceremony of the Ede ethnic group in Dak Lak province, introduce Ede ethnic music with traditional musical instruments: gongs, bamboo gongs, ching cram..., perform folk songs and dances: Aray singing, folk songs, songs about the Central Highlands, xoang dance... combined with introducing traditional crafts, OCOP products...

Visitors can also enjoy and learn about traditional coffees at the Central Highlands Coffee Demonstration Space.

Within the framework of the program "Colors of Dao culture", there are activities to reenact the Coming of Age Ceremony of the Dao ethnic group in Thanh Hoa province, introducing Dao ethnic culture through folk music, worship paintings and traditional costumes of the Dao ethnic group in Thanh Hoa.

In addition, the Village still has daily activities of ethnic communities with folk songs and dances, introduction of ethnic cuisine, folk games, traditional crafts, etc.
