Within the framework of the Defense Exchange Program of the two provinces of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan (Laos), the medical team of Thanh Hoa province in coordination with the military medical staff of the Lao People's Army organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to people in the border area of Doi village, Vieng Xay district, Hua Phan province (Laos).
Attending the program, on the side of Thanh Hoa province, there was Colonel Le Van Trung, Political Commissar of Thanh Hoa Military Command; on the side of Hua Phan province, there was Major General Kham Muong Khot Vong Khun, Commander of Hua Phan Provincial Military Command, and representatives of the Party Committees, authorities, and armed forces of the two border provinces.
Participating in this free medical examination, treatment and medicine provision were more than 30 doctors from the following units: Department of Health, Ministry of Military Command, Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command, Central Hospital 71; Lao Army Medical Force and medical staff from 2 localities in the border area. Along with that, modern medical equipment such as ultrasound, electrocardiogram, endoscopy ... were mobilized to examine the people.
At Ban Doi Primary School, Vieng Xay district, more than 200 people received specialized clinical examinations from military doctors from two provinces in a closed model.
In each examination area, there are doctors, military medical staff from both countries and local medical staff and interpreters to support. During the visit and examination, the people were consulted by military doctors on health care, hygienic food and accommodation, and disease prevention.
With the motto "Serving the People with all our heart", doctors and nurses of Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan provinces also organized communication campaigns about knowledge of health care, protection, and disease prevention for the people. As soon as they heard that Thanh Hoa province soldiers were coming to examine and provide medicine, the people arranged their work to come very early.
Along with medical examination, treatment and free medicine provision, Thanh Hoa Provincial Military also gave 30 gifts to disadvantaged students with good academic performance (each gift worth 1.5 million VND).
The activities of medical examination, health care consultation, free medicine provision, and gift giving to poor and excellent students in the Vietnam - Laos border area by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military have directly contributed to strengthening the close relationship between the two countries, especially between local Party committees, authorities, and people in the border areas. At the same time, it has promoted the sense of responsibility of the border protection forces of the two countries to join hands to coordinate more closely and effectively in managing and protecting the border, landmarks, fighting and preventing crimes, helping people to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and build a Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and mutual development.
The program of military defense exchange between Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces with many meaningful activities to practically celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
