Opening of Viettel Logistics Park in Lang Son

On December 11, in Lang Son, Viettel Logistics Park invested by the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group was officially opened and put into operation.


Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of leaders of ministries, branches and localities: Ministry of National Defense , Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Lao Cai province... On the side of Lang Son province, there were: Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Hoang Van Nghiem and leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, departments, branches and localities of Lang Son province; representatives of some embassies in Vietnam; Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai enterprises... with commercial activities in Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone...

Spread over an area of ​​143.7 hectares, Viettel Logistics Park is proud to be the logistics center with the most modern and synchronous infrastructure in Vietnam.

This is the first logistics infrastructure complex in Vietnam, an important step forward not only for Viettel Post but also for the logistics industry and the national economy.

Introducing Viettel Logistics Park, Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh - General Director of Viettel Post shared: This is a key project in the strategy of building national logistics infrastructure of Viettel Group. Viettel Logistics Park was born with the mission of becoming a trade bridge between ASEAN and China, contributing to positioning Vietnam as a strategic logistics center of Southeast Asia.

"With a synchronous infrastructure, this is the first logistics center in Vietnam to provide a complete import-export logistics service chain from customs clearance, quarantine, inspection, loading, warehousing to cross-border transportation. The data system at the park will also be standardized and directly connected to Vietnam and China customs data, ensuring optimization of operating processes, reducing customs clearance processing time from 4-5 days to less than 24 hours, reducing customs clearance costs by 30-40%, increasing the efficiency of refrigerated container trucks transporting fruit from 2.5 trips/month to 4-5 trips/month" - Mr. Thanh said.

Viettel Logistics Park is built according to the highest standards of technology (such as IoT, 5G, AI, Big Data and Digital Twins) and automation (such as Smart Locker, drones, autonomous vehicles). These technologies and automation solutions are applied to optimize operational processes, from warehouse management, to freight transport and customs clearance, optimizing the delivery process, helping businesses save 40% of logistics costs.

In addition, Viettel Logistics Park is also designed according to the US LEED standard (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design - International standards for green architecture), complying with the principles of sustainable and modern operation. With more than 3,300 trees, a renewable energy system and a circular economic model, the park not only operates effectively but also contributes to environmental protection, building a green and friendly logistics ecosystem.

Viettel Post has developed the V-Gate application to support businesses in online booking. This system is integrated with satellite systems: Smart Transport Management System (Smart Gate), other future logistics park systems, smart warehouse management system (WMS), financial systems to improve operational efficiency, enhance transparency and ensure the delivery of goods is smooth and accurate.

According to Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee: The Cargo Transit Area Project located in Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone is one of the key projects of the province. The goal is to be a place to store, preserve, classify, and package import and export goods according to international standards and quality; shorten customs clearance time, inspect import and export goods; develop logistics services and related supply services. During the implementation of the project, the provincial leaders have paid attention, regularly inspected, urged, and promptly removed obstacles and difficulties to speed up progress.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Tran Dinh Thang - Director of the Department of Economics - Ministry of National Defense said that the Ministry of National Defense highly appreciated and commended the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group for its urgent spirit, focusing resources and material resources, completing the investment in construction and opening the Viettel Logistics Park Project in Lang Son today. Thereby, contributing to facilitating the export of goods, agricultural, forestry and aquatic products from Vietnam to the Chinese market.

"The Military Industry and Telecommunications Group has successfully completed its set goals, completed construction and put into operation the Viettel Logistics Park project at Dong Dang Border Gate Economic Zone, Lang Son province. Viettel Logistics Park is the driving force for border economic development and inspires other businesses to join hands in building national logistics infrastructure " - Major General Tran Dinh Thang emphasized.

In the coming time, logistics services will play an increasingly important role, making practical contributions to the modernization and industrialization associated with the country's international economic integration. At the same time, facing greater challenges and requirements in the new context, the country is entering a new development cycle, digital transformation, green transformation and deep international integration, requiring a huge demand in both quantity and quality of logistics services, Major General Tran Dinh Thang suggested that in the coming time, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group needs to participate deeply in the global value chain; apply high technology and strong digital transformation; develop green, environmentally friendly, contributing to realizing the goal of Vietnam basically becoming a modern industrialized country by 2030.

The Military Industry and Telecommunications Group focuses on investing in and implementing a logistics chain in line with traffic planning to create effective connections with logistics center planning, linking logistics center planning with planning for roads, railways, waterways, seaways and airways; strongly developing multimodal transportation to minimize logistics time and costs.

In particular, the Group needs to increase investment in logistics infrastructure, build logistics centers; develop logistics trading floors; logistics infrastructure associated with e-commerce. Promote the development of multimodal transport and cross-border transport. Promote research, application of technology, engineering, digital transformation in logistics; promote the application of advanced supply chain management models. Focus on training logistics human resources; build strong logistics research centers.

Strengthen international cooperation in logistics; promote links with foreign partners. Promote the role of a large enterprise in the logistics sector, create development momentum and enhance competitiveness. Build a long-term, sustainable business strategy, continue to develop logistics facilities in industrial parks, seaports, railways, and airports. In particular, pay attention to investing in the logistics chain at the Long Thanh airport project under construction...

With the goal of minimizing logistics costs and the increasingly important role of logistics in the economy, accepting the direction of Major General Tran Dinh Thang and the proposal of the leaders of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, the Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group requested that units in the group and Viettel Post continue to strengthen technology integration and comprehensive automation: Applying the most modern technologies, helping to optimize operating processes with the goal of continuously optimizing time and costs.

Providing suitable logistics solutions at competitive costs, helping Vietnamese businesses easily access the global market. ViettelPost aims to become the leading logistics brand in Southeast Asia by 2030.

In particular, applying green logistics solutions, minimizing environmental impacts and contributing to the country's sustainable development goals.

Talking about Viettel's vision in developing national logistics infrastructure, Major General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman and General Director of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) said: " In the coming time, Viettel will complete the network of logistics centers nationwide, serving key economic regions with 5 orientations: Smart border gates; agricultural logistics center; logistics center in industrial parks; supply chain infrastructure; multimodal transport network; creating a smart, automated, multimodal logistics ecosystem, from road, rail, waterway to aviation, contributing to making Vietnam an important logistics center of the region, implementing the spirit of Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee, emphasizing the role of logistics infrastructure in connecting and improving the efficiency of the economy ".
