On November 22-23, the 8th Vietnam Sales and Marketing Congress (VSMCamp) and the Sales and Marketing Directors Summit (CSMOSummit) officially took place at VinUni University, Hanoi.

With the theme “FORWARD+ Sales and marketing strategy in the era of sustainable development”, the event gathered more than 60 speakers, leading experts, and the participation of a large number of media representatives, students and people interested in the field of sales and marketing. This is considered the most important forum of the year, orienting new strategies and solutions to help businesses overcome challenges and create long-term value.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh, Chairman of Vietnam Sales and Marketing Directors Club (CSMO).

At the event, Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Sales and Marketing Directors Club (CSMO), said that in the context of sustainable development becoming an inevitable trend, the sales and marketing strategies of businesses must also adapt and innovate to meet the changing requirements of the market and society. The concept of ESG (environment - society - governance) has become an important foundation in shaping this strategy, when businesses not only focus on profits but also pay attention to factors that have a positive impact on the living environment, a fair and prosperous society.

“ESG has become a standard for international business operations, a fundamental condition for establishing a position in global and local markets. It is also the driving force for the green shift trend in sales and marketing,” Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh emphasized.

Accordingly, VSMCamp and CSMOSummit 2024 aim to develop sales and marketing strategies that closely integrate ESG factors, along with building green sales and marketing strategies, sustainable advertising and communication. This not only helps businesses adapt to global trends but also creates competitive advantages, builds strong brands and creates long-term value for both businesses and society.

“Honesty and environmental responsibility will help Vietnamese products reach far in demanding markets like the US and Europe,” Mr. Stephen Kreppel affirmed.

Discussing the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on sustainable marketing strategies in the next 5 years, Professor Marc Kramer, a startup expert at VinUni, said that modern technologies such as virtual reality (AR), augmented reality (VR), and Metaverse not only help personalize customer experiences but also help businesses reduce their impact on the environment. However, he also noted that ethics and privacy issues need to be put first, as consumers are increasingly sensitive to how their data is used.

In the afternoon of the same day, the event series continued with 10 in-depth discussion sessions, focusing on topics such as ESG (environment, society and governance), sustainable corporate culture, and green transformation strategies in sales and marketing activities. One of the notable contents was the relationship between social responsibility and sustainable e-commerce, especially in the context of the e-commerce industry growing strongly but also facing environmental challenges.
