Opening of the national mixed badminton team tournament in Dien Bien

TPO - On the evening of April 21, Dien Bien Province's Multi-purpose Gymnasium was bustling with a sports atmosphere when it officially welcomed the 2025 National Mixed Badminton Championship. The event was organized by the People's Committee of Dien Bien Province in coordination with the Department of Physical Training and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnam Badminton Federation.

This year’s tournament brings together more than 100 coaches and athletes from 10 delegations across the country. The teams are divided into two groups (A and B), competing in a competitive format with 5 events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The tournament will take place continuously from April 21 to 26.

This is the last national sporting event in a series of five tournaments that Dien Bien province will host in 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Vu A Bang affirmed that the tournament is an important opportunity for athletes to compete and exchange professional experiences, while strengthening solidarity between localities, contributing to the widespread development of badminton.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the first matches took place excitingly.
