In his opening remarks at the fair, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fisheries Association and Head of the Organizing Committee of VietShrimp 2025, stated: In 2024, the country's shrimp production reached 1.264 million tons, a 5.3% increase compared to 2023, bringing in over 4 billion USD in export revenue, a significant increase compared to the previous year. However, the proliferation of these models has inadvertently put pressure on the shrimp's living environment, causing the quality of farming areas to gradually decline. Therefore, along with improving shrimp productivity and quality, solutions are needed to develop the shrimp farming sector effectively and sustainably, especially given the increasingly stringent demands of the global market…
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, emphasized that Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta provinces have great potential and advantages for developing aquaculture, processing, and exporting seafood. The fair is an opportunity for the seafood industry in the Mekong Delta and the whole country to showcase scientific and technological advancements in seafood exploitation, aquaculture, and processing, as well as to promote brands, introduce products, services, and technologies... serving production, developing shrimp farming, improving product quality and value, and affirming the position of high-quality products in the world market. The fair will help open up many opportunities for cooperation with domestic and foreign partners.
