On the morning of May 18, in Hau Giang province, the Digital Transformation and Innovative Startup Week - Mekong Delta 2023 opened, organized by the People's Committee of Hau Giang province in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association.

Attending the opening ceremony were more than 1,000 delegates who were experts and leading speakers on digital transformation, innovative startups from central ministries; state management agencies; associations, professional associations; organizations, corporations, enterprises of Hau Giang province, Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities in the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee said: "The Mekong Delta 2023 Digital Transformation and Innovation Startup Week is organized to raise awareness, create opportunities for exchange and cooperation between state agencies and enterprises providing digital transformation products and solutions, contributing to improving the effectiveness of digital transformation and innovation startups, creating momentum to promote socio-economic development of Hau Giang province in particular and the region and the country in general. In addition, it supports the promotion, promotion and attraction of investment from technology enterprises to Hau Giang Digital Technology Park; promotes the linkage of the innovation startup ecosystem, connecting the province's ecosystem with the regional and national ecosystems".

Digital Transformation and Innovative Startup Week - Mekong Delta 2023 takes place from May 18 to 20, with many extremely rich and practical series of activities, seminars, and exhibition events, focusing on areas such as: Digital transformation for state agencies, enterprises, for the agricultural, health, education, and tourism sectors; seminars on investment promotion, trade promotion, and training of information technology human resources... In particular, there are more than 100 booths including: products, innovative startup models, digital transformation solutions from localities, organizations, and domestic and international enterprises.

Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association shared: “After a year of accompanying the province, the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association has understood more and seen the determination and aspiration of the provincial leaders in promoting digital transformation activities to develop the province's socio-economy. Through contact, we see that the awareness of digital transformation of officials, civil servants, businesses and people has changed positively. In particular, businesses and people are beginning to be aware and want to participate in the digital transformation process. The initial results of digital transformation activities have contributed positively to improving the investment and business environment, promoting investment attraction and developing economic sectors of the province".

According to Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Hau Giang is a province with many difficulties but has achieved many valuable results through outstanding growth in GRDP and socio-economic indicators. The highlight in the province's digital transformation and IT application activities is the effectiveness of the Community Digital Transformation Team; typical digital transformation model at the district level. Hau Giang has a good way of arranging digital transformation funding to the commune level..., especially the most impressive point is the formation of Hau Giang Digital Technology Park in 2023 - this is a model that has received strong support from the Ministry of Information and Communications and the technology business community. Through this year's Week, the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association hopes that this activity will not only contribute to promoting Hau Giang province but also be a premise for developing regional linkages and socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta region. This is the second year of the 3-year consecutive program in which the Association commits to working with Hau Giang province to host and organize major events on the IT industry and Digital Transformation for the Mekong Delta region, with Hau Giang as the destination.
Within the framework of the Digital Transformation and Innovative Startup Week - Mekong Delta 2023, there will be 9 workshops, 8 sideline activities associated with the Experience Zone - displaying nearly 90 booths, including 40 booths displaying innovative startup products, OCOP products; nearly 50 booths introducing technology equipment, products, and prestigious digital transformation solutions from organizations, corporations, and businesses across the country.
