DNVN - Within the framework of the conference "Meet Thailand 2024" organized by the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Consular Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam) and the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Vietnam - Thailand trade exhibition opened on the afternoon of September 26.
Taking place at APEC Park (Da Nang) for two days from September 26 to 2, the Vietnam - Thailand trade exhibition gathered 24 businesses participating in 32 booths (50% of the booths displayed Thai products and the remaining 50% displayed Vietnamese products).

According to Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, this event is an opportunity for Vietnamese localities to introduce their achievements, and at the same time an opportunity for the business communities of the two countries to display and introduce typical and strong products, thereby helping to connect and increase trade between the two sides.
Thai Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wiraka Moodhitaporn said that this year Thailand and Vietnam hope to upgrade their bilateral relationship from Strategic Partnership to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN with two-way trade reaching approximately 20 billion USD. Thailand is also the 9th largest foreign investor in Vietnam, ranking 2nd in ASEAN after Singapore, with more than 14 billion USD.
“Today’s event is not just an exhibition, but also an opportunity to exchange best practices with each other to learn about potential trade connections in the Central region of Vietnam, and to collect valuable specific information about the market through direct interaction with buyers and consumers,” Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn told Thai businesses.
On behalf of the Royal Thai Government, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Thai private enterprises to contribute to realizing the commitment of the leaders of Thailand and Vietnam to increase bilateral trade turnover between the two countries to 25 billion USD next year, helping to promote economic growth and shared prosperity for both countries.
Deputy General Director of Da Nang Port Duong Duc Xuan introduced Da Nang Port to the Thai delegation.
Introducing to the delegation, Deputy General Director of Da Nang Port Duong Duc Xuan said that Da Nang Port is the gateway to the Pacific Ocean of the East-West Economic Corridor connecting from Northeast Thailand through Laos - Vietnam to the East Sea, the core of the global logistics supply chain with a maritime ecosystem including port authorities, pilots, customs, border guards, tax authorities, shipping lines and the import-export business community.
Currently, Da Nang Port is the largest container seaport in the Central region, owning nearly 1,700m of wharf with the ability to receive general cargo ships up to 70,000 DWT, container ships up to 4,000 Teus and passenger ships up to 170,000 GRT along with modern loading and unloading equipment and warehouses. Da Nang Port has made a great contribution to import and export activities, connecting trade between businesses in the Central region of Vietnam and Thailand.
