With a scale of 60 booths, the Craft Village Festival celebrates the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Thuong Tin district (August 28, 1954 - August 28, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024); Exhibition of OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Thuong Tin district in 2024 is organized by the Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the People's Committee of Thuong Tin district to support enterprises, rural industrial establishments, artisans in Hanoi in general and Thuong Tin district in particular to display, promote and introduce local traditional craft products, OCOP products, traditional craft village products.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade - said that, implementing Plan No. 227/KH-UBND dated October 11, 2021 of the City People's Committee to implement Program 04-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy, improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021-2025", the Department of Industry and Trade was assigned to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to develop and implement the Plan to develop the Center for Creative Design, introduce, promote and sell OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism in districts and towns.

In 2023, the City recognized the Model of Creative Design Center, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism at the commune level for 10 units in districts and towns. Of which, the Center for Creative Design, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft village products associated with tourism in Duyen Thai commune, Thuong Tin district achieved the 3-star model.
The city has implemented support for recognized models through information, propaganda, capacity building, connecting OCOP products in the area, introducing, promoting and selling products; forming tours and tourism programs in association with Design Centers, creating, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism; integrating promotion of these centers at the offices of domestic and foreign travel companies and travel agents.
The exhibition of OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Thuong Tin district in 2024 is the second event in a series of events to promote, trade and connect OCOP products, craft villages serving tourism under the Plan to Develop the Center for Creative Design, introduce, promote and sell OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism in districts and towns in Hanoi in 2024.
The exhibition promises to be a place to introduce and promote unique and typical products of Thuong Tin district's craft villages, contributing to enhancing the value of handicraft products, OCOP, craft villages, building a chain of links from creative design, production - processing, product consumption in domestic and international tourist markets on the basis of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of craft villages associated with community tourism activities, agricultural and rural tourism in the circular economy, contributing to the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction in the period of 2021-2025.

Regarding the Craft Village Festival event, Mr. Bui Cong Than - Vice Chairman of Thuong Tin District People's Committee - said that, implementing Plan No. 273/KH-UBND dated August 22, 2024 of Thuong Tin District People's Committee on organizing the Craft Village Festival to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Thuong Tin District (August 28, 1954 - August 28, 2024); 70 years of the liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024)...., within the framework of the Exhibition, Thuong Tin District People's Committee organized the Craft Village Festival. This is a special event to honor the cultural traditions and traditional crafts of the locality.
This event not only recognizes the progress in economic development, but also emphasizes the cultural identity of the district - where there are 81 craft villages, of which 50 villages are recognized as traditional craft villages by the City People's Committee (formerly Ha Tay province).

"Thuong Tin District has had many remarkable achievements in recent times, with the goal of becoming a district of Hanoi Capital by 2030. The Festival event is not only a celebration but also aims to promote the potential and advantages of the district in socio-economic development, associated with preserving and developing culture. Activities will include an exhibition of craft village products , cultural and artistic performances, and product auctions, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the community," said Mr. Bui Cong Than.

The Craft Village Festival and Exhibition of OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Thuong Tin district in 2024 will take place from October 11 to October 14, 2024 at the Cultural - Sports and Information Center of Thuong Tin district.
