On the evening of August 29, the exhibition "Colors of ASEAN Culture" opened at Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, displaying many beautiful images of member countries in the "common roof" of ASEAN.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ky, Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO); representatives of the Embassies of Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Philippines, Myanmar and Timor-Leste.

The photo exhibition “Colors of ASEAN Culture” is the opening event for a series of activities within the framework of the “Colors of ASEAN” Cultural Friendship Festival program co-organized by HAUFO, the Embassy of Laos (ASEAN rotating chair country in 2024) and ASEAN countries in Vietnam.

HAUFO Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Ky emphasized that the Photo Exhibition is a unique art event with 57 photos about the country, people, historical relics, scenic spots of ASEAN countries, and some memorable activities of ASEAN leaders.

The number 57 represents the 57th anniversary of ASEAN. The photos are arranged on the Lantern Street in the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, creating a journey to discover the beauty of each country for delegates and visitors.

On the same evening, HAUFO concluded and awarded the prizes for the 2024 painting contest "I love Hanoi - City for Peace".

This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 57th anniversary of ASEAN's founding day (August 8, 1967 - August 8, 2024), the 79th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), the 70th anniversary of Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized by UNESCO as a "City for Peace" (July 16, 1999 - July 16, 2024).

HAUFO Permanent Vice President Tran Thi Phuong said that this annual drawing contest is for Vietnamese and international children aged 5 to 16 years old living and studying in Hanoi. After a month of launching, the contest organizers have received nearly 300 entries.

Evaluating the 60 entries that made it to the final round, the judges commented that the paintings were generally highly aesthetic, expressing love for Hanoi and love for peace from the pure, innocent perspective of children. Many children boldly created using impressive color tones and modern drawing styles, creating works with unique painting styles, making a strong impression on the judges.
