Speaking at the opening of the first session of the Congress, on behalf of the Presidium, comrade Le Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that in the past time, the Provincial People's Committee, all levels, sectors and localities have focused on leading and directing the successful and timely organization of the congresses and conferences of ethnic minorities of 13 districts and cities in the province.

At the same time, the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee, sub-committees, departments, branches and sectors have actively and carefully prepared the political report content, personnel work, reward work and service work to organize the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities according to the set plan.

“The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities is an important political event of the province in 2024, with great significance in many aspects, affirming the attention of the Party and State to ethnic minorities. At the same time, it recognizes, honors and commends outstanding collectives and individuals among the province's ethnic minorities.

Thereby, contributing to creating a vibrant patriotic emulation movement, continuing to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc in building and developing the homeland and country" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized.

To successfully complete the content and program set out by the Congress, comrade Le Van Dung suggested that delegates attending the Congress focus on giving comments on the political report, the Resolution of the Congress for the period 2024 - 2029 and some other important contents with the motto "Ethnic groups unite, promote internal strength, innovate, integrate, and strive for sustainable development".

According to the working program, the first session of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Nam province includes the following contents: Report on the verification of the qualifications of delegates attending the Congress; Consultation to elect the Presidium and Secretariat of the Congress; approval of the Congress regulations and the official Congress session program; Discussion and comments on the draft Political Report and draft Resolution of the Congress.

Reporting on the situation of delegates attending the 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress - 2024, Mr. Dang Tan Gian - Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minority Committee said that the total number of delegates officially summoned to attend the Congress is 250 delegates, belonging to 16 ethnic groups living in the province. The oldest delegate is Mr. Ho Van Dinh (81 years old, Xo Dang ethnic group, typical folk artist of Tra Bui commune, Bac Tra My district). The youngest delegate is Ms. Ho Thi Yen (26 years old, Xo Dang ethnic group, typical farmer of Phu Tan village, Tam Tra commune, Nui Thanh district).
