Opening of the 2024 Safe Food Fair in Tho Xuan District

On the morning of May 6, at Sao Vang Town Stadium, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the People's Committee of Tho Xuan District to organize the opening ceremony of the 2024 safe food market. Right at the opening ceremony, the market attracted a large number of people to visit and shop.

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Duc Luong delivered the opening speech at the market.

Representatives of Tho Xuan district leaders, Sao Vang town and enterprises, cooperatives, and individual households attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening of the market, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Duc Luong emphasized: The problem of "dirty" food and food that does not ensure hygiene and safety is a big challenge today. Although the Party Committees and authorities of Thanh Hoa province have paid great attention to directing and encouraging the replication of many advanced food production and processing models to raise awareness, control food poisoning, and protect workers' health; however, the food safety situation still has complicated developments.

The fair is organized with the aim of creating conditions for businesses, food production and distribution establishments inside and outside the province to display and introduce safe food to distributors and consumers in localities in the province; at the same time, promote and advertise safe food products, typical of the locality, contributing to expanding the consumption market for food products of the province.

The safe food market in Tho Xuan district was held for 2 days (May 6 and 7), with 30 booths selling food, agricultural products, seafood, beverages, processed foods... of businesses, cooperatives supplying safe food, and OCOP product manufacturers in and outside the province. All products brought to the market are monitored for food safety by competent state management agencies, creating a reputable shopping address for local people.

This is an opportunity for people to access safe, reputable and quality food products, gradually raising consumer awareness of the production capacity of food production facilities in the province, contributing to promoting the implementation of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in Thanh Hoa province.

The market is implemented according to Plan No. 237/KH-UBND dated October 2, 2023 of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on piloting the "Safe Food Market" in Thanh Hoa province for the period 2023-2025; Plan No. 193/KH-SCT dated February 21, 2024 of the Department of Industry and Trade on piloting the "Safe Food Market".

In 2024 alone, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with departments, branches and localities to pilot 4 safe food markets in Tho Xuan, Cam Thuy, Nong Cong and Nga Son districts.

Products brought to the market are all monitored for food safety by competent state management agencies, creating a reputable shopping address for local people.
