In his opening speech, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee affirmed: Books are a priceless treasure of knowledge for mankind, a bridge between the past, present and future. Reading books not only helps us expand our knowledge, nourish our souls, but also arouses our desire for creativity and a spirit of dedication to the community. Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is an opportunity for us to affirm the important role of books in improving people's knowledge, developing personality and building a learning and progressive society, especially in the current conditions when there are many types of influences on reading culture such as social networks, the Internet, etc.

Organizing Book and Reading Culture Day is a practical activity to encourage and develop the reading movement, create a favorable reading environment, build reading habits in families, schools, agencies, units, organizations, and residential areas. In particular, this year's Book Day takes place in the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, activities focus on honoring historical values, arousing national pride. Encouraging the young generation to access knowledge, building a rich and beautiful homeland, "With books entering the era of national growth".

The province currently has 1 provincial library, 10 district libraries and 548 communal libraries, reading rooms, school libraries, and community libraries that have well served the needs of learning, research, study, and cultural enjoyment of the people and students. In addition, there are hundreds of law bookcases, communal cultural post office bookcases, private reading rooms, reading corners in coffee shops, homestays, hotels, etc., along with thousands of books circulating to remote areas and ethnic minority areas via the mobile library "Light of Knowledge".

After the opening ceremony, many exciting activities will take place on April 20 and 21, such as: Giving 1,000 books to elementary school students in difficult circumstances; awarding prizes for the 2025 online book introduction contest "The book I love" and the online quiz contest "The heroic song of the country"; Learning about the 50th anniversary of the Central Highlands Campaign and the Great Victory of Spring 1975; Green Library Space - Book Road to serve the reading and knowledge needs of children and teenagers; Displaying traditional and historical artifacts, especially those typical of Lam Dong province; Bell Ringing Contest to learn about the history of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, learning about authors and literary works; Contest "Drawing pictures according to books - the colors I love"; Exchange with the group of authors of the book series “Dalat in the writings of children” introducing the works of young writers of Da Lat; exchange with famous writers and poets; serve mobile library vehicles at the above schools in Da Lat, Lam Ha, Bao Loc, Da Huoai.
