Opening of the 4th Dak Lak Province Book and Reading Culture Festival

With the message “Entering the era of national development with books”, this year’s Dak Lak Book and Reading Culture Festival takes place from April 17-20 with many activities such as: Organizing the exhibition of books by theme; mobile library cars and book experience activities, serving many different genres of books; displaying, introducing and selling books, pictures, STEM products, etc.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Dak Lak province in 2025, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province Tran Hong Tien emphasized: This year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is a meaningful event to arouse the passion for reading in the community, honor the value of books and bookmakers, and affirm the great role of reading in improving people's intelligence, developing knowledge, nurturing personality and contributing to building a learning society.

In Dak Lak province, in recent years, with the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society, the reading movement in Dak Lak province has increasingly spread strongly, especially among teenagers, students and pupils. Libraries, community bookcases, and open reading spaces are increasingly invested in and developed, creating favorable conditions for everyone to access knowledge.

Regarding the reading service system in the province, up to now there is one provincial library, 13 district libraries, 35 libraries, communal reading rooms and a system of school libraries in the area, with a total collection of more than 202,967 copies, with 68,300 book titles.

In addition to traditional printed documents, there are more than 6,500 electronic documents serving readers via the Internet, over 54,300 copies of books in the mobile bookstore, especially more than 23,528 copies of books for children.

Every year, we build, supplement and update 2,000-3,000 new books into the book warehouses, 300-350 electronic documents, 100 types of newspapers and magazines, thereby contributing to serving the needs of learning, researching, studying and enjoying reading culture of the people, especially students...

Up to now, 20 agencies, units and enterprises inside and outside the province have participated in accompanying and sponsoring activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 in the province, with a total budget of 129 million VND.

In addition to introducing and displaying many genres of books and related products, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Dak Lak province in 2025 also takes place with many exciting, useful and practical activities.

In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution and the strong development of digital technology, it is necessary to reaffirm the eternal value of reading - not only reading to know and understand, but also reading to live better, to cultivate the soul and enrich the mind.
