Opening of the Creative Startup Festival in the North Central and Central Coast regions in 2024

The North Central and Central Coastal Creative Startup Festival 2024 is an event demonstrating the goal and determination of Thua Thien Hue province to build Thua Thien Hue into a major science and technology center of the country in the spirit of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

The event is also an opportunity to consult on policy mechanisms for innovative startup investment activities; share, exchange, discuss, and raise priority issues in solving "problems" of socio-economic development in the North Central and Central Coast regions; promote the connection between the Ancient Capital startup ecosystem and the innovative startup ecosystem in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

In addition, the festival creates opportunities to connect, attract resources, large corporations and groups to participate in investment, contributing to promoting and developing local socio-economic sectors in the region; creating motivation, connecting and spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity among all classes of people in Thua Thien Hue province in particular and the North Central and Central Coast regions in general.

Speaking at the opening of the Festival, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh said that with its extremely important position, the North Central and Central Coast regions are one of the economic regions that the Party and State pay attention to and focus on.

The regional development strategy issued by the Politburo in Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated November 3, 2022 affirmed: "Promoting economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation, developing blue economy, circular economy in accordance with the actual conditions of the region. Developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, in accordance with the actual conditions of the region", identifying a number of key tasks and solutions such as: "Investing in a number of startup centers, innovation, science and technology centers, training, health care... according to the plan" and "Strengthening scientific research activities, technology development and innovation".

In Resolution No. 54-NQ/TW dated December 10, 2019 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, it is stated that by 2030, Thua Thien Hue will be one of the major and unique centers of the Southeast Asian region in terms of culture, tourism and specialized healthcare; one of the major centers of the country in terms of science and technology, multi-disciplinary, multi-field, high-quality education and training; especially, the project to establish Hue city directly under the Central Government is being considered and decided by competent authorities.

Therefore, the 2024 North Central and Central Coastal Creative Startup Festival is an important forum, creating favorable opportunities for localities and units to share experiences, knowledge, connect, seek cooperation opportunities, optimize resources, domestic and international experts. Together, come up with solutions to support the development of creative startup models, contributing to further promoting the development of the creative startup ecosystem in Thua Thien Hue in particular and the whole country in general.

According to Deputy Minister Hoang Minh, creative startup activities in Thua Thien Hue and in the North Central and Central Coast regions in recent times have had many highlights and impressive results... Events, competitions, and programs such as local, regional, and national Techfest have also been regularly organized in the area, many training programs, linkages, and cooperation with domestic and international communities have been implemented, the work of building mechanisms and policies has always been of interest, and many creative startup centers have been and are being formed. A number of creative startups in fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, tourism, autonomous vehicles, etc. have had strong growth and have connected with the national and foreign markets.
