(PLVN) - On the evening of November 9, at the Youth Square, Dong Van district (Ha Giang province) held the opening ceremony of the 2024 Buckwheat Flower Festival with the theme "The land of nostalgic flowers" with many rich and attractive activities.
The buckwheat flower festival is held annually in late autumn and early winter, when buckwheat flowers are at their most beautiful on the Dong Van Stone Plateau.

This year's festival has the theme "Land of Nostalgic Flowers" with activities lasting from October to the end of December across the districts of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Chairman of Dong Van District People's Committee Do Quoc Huong said: Dong Van is a district with a particularly important geographical location. With its potential advantages, along with the efforts of the Party Committee, government and local people, Dong Van tourism has gradually affirmed its brand, becoming a favorite destination for tourists. In particular, in recent years, buckwheat flowers have become a highlight, attracting a large number of tourists to Dong Van.
According to the Chairman of Dong Van District People's Committee, the 10th Buckwheat Flower Festival is an important cultural and tourism event to honor the beauty of the typical flower of the Stone Plateau. After 9 festival seasons with its own unique features, the 10th festival in 2024 with the theme "The land of flowers of nostalgia" will take place with many rich and diverse activities, many new tourism products that promise to bring visitors interesting experiences among the immense rocky mountains, to enjoy the majesty of the land and sky, and learn more about the indigenous culture of the ethnic groups in Dong Van district.
To prepare for the festival, in the mountainous districts of Ha Giang province, more than 200 hectares of buckwheat trees have been planted along main roads and tourist attractions in the four districts of Dong Van, Yen Minh, Quan Ba, and Meo Vac.
Coming to the festival, visitors can experience reality, immerse themselves in nature, and immerse themselves in the colorful buckwheat flower carpets in the mountains and forests.

Within the framework of the festival, there were special activities such as: Competition to perform and introduce traditional costumes of ethnic groups; activities to experience linen weaving, brocade embroidery; making household items and traditional musical instruments; displaying and introducing local products.

At the same time, visitors can experience buckwheat flower growing areas; experience and exchange culture, arts, and folk games in the center of the old town and typical community cultural tourism villages.
At the opening ceremony, there was an art program with the theme "The land of flowers of nostalgia", with many special art performances by singers and artists from the Central and Ha Giang province.
