The workshop aims to affirm and clarify that the great victory of Spring 1975 was a victory of the will to unify the country and the aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people; a victory of the Vietnamese spirit, intelligence and the strength of great national unity associated with the strength of the times in the resistance war against the US to save the country; provide new documents, new arguments, and profound scientific arguments to clarify the preparation process, the development of the campaign, the role and coordination of the forces participating in the campaign; draw valuable lessons from the resistance war against the US to save the country, apply and promote in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

50 years ago, under the talented leadership of the Vietnam Workers' Party (now the Communist Party of Vietnam), our entire people and army, with iron determination, intelligence, creativity, and the resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people, achieved the great victory of Spring 1975, liberating the South and reunifying the country.

To continue affirming the historical value, glorious feats, and the stature of the times, and clarifying the lessons of the great victory of Spring 1975, in his opening speech at the conference, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense , stated: Today's scientific conference is an important event in the series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 / April 30, 2025), an opportunity for the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to review the indomitable tradition of the nation, to express gratitude and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved Father of the people's armed forces; General Vo Nguyen Giap - the Elder Brother of the Vietnam People's Army.
