(Chinhphu.vn) - The 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit with the theme "Gateway to the Future" opened on the morning of January 10 in Gujarat state, India.
The vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is an initiative of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held every two years since 2003, when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. With the aim of creating a forum for business networking, knowledge sharing and establishing cooperative relations for inclusive growth and sustainable development, this year's Summit attracted the participation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, heads of state of several countries, ministers, leaders of large corporations from many countries, and representatives of international organizations. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang was the first senior leader of Vietnam to attend the Summit, affirming Vietnam's policy of attaching importance to relations with India, supporting initiatives and forums hosted by India in accordance with the interests of both sides and the international community. Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang expressed his pleasure to attend the Conference in Gujarat state - the homeland of the great leader Mahatma Gandhi of the country and the brotherly people of India, the homeland of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated this Conference's focus on discussing new development drivers and trends, including green economy, circular economy, digital economy, smart cities, etc. These are priority areas in the development and international integration process of Vietnam. To strongly promote the above priority areas, towards sustainable development goals, the Deputy Prime Minister said that governments need to create a policy, legal framework and a favorable, stable, transparent and fair investment and business environment; and implement strategies and plans consistently. The government's public investment capital needs to play a leading role, while strongly encouraging and effectively attracting resources from the private sector and foreign investment. In international cooperation, it is necessary to make these areas the main content of cooperation and prioritize more resources to realize them. Developed countries need to increase support for developing countries in terms of capital, technology transfer, engineering, modern management, and human resource training. As a fast-growing and dynamic economy, the fifth largest in the world, the Deputy Prime Minister believes that India is fully capable and is increasingly playing a leading role in this process. Regarding bilateral relations, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed that over the past time, the traditional friendship and the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership have continuously developed in all fields; affirming that Vietnam sincerely thanks and appreciates India's effective support in human resource training, science and technology development, energy conversion, and digital conversion. The Deputy Prime Minister wished to further promote cooperation with India in general and Gujarat in particular, especially in areas where India has strengths and is suitable for Vietnam's development priorities, many of which were discussed at this conference. As a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community, Vietnam always welcomes and is ready to create favorable conditions for Indian enterprises to invest and do long-term business in Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.
