Opening of Vietnam International Travel Mart - VITM Hanoi 2025

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that over the years, the tourism industry has always received the attention and close direction of the Party and the State. Many policies and guidelines have created conditions for the tourism industry to recover and develop. The number of domestic tourists in 2024 has far exceeded that of 2019, the number of international visitors has grown at the leading rate in the region, reaching a record level in 2019. Notably, in the first quarter of 2025, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached over 6 million, an increase of 29.6% over the same period, the highest level ever. These results have opened a new development stage for Vietnam Tourism.

According to Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan - Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of VITM Hanoi 2025, in the general development trend in the region and the world , to support Vietnamese tourism businesses to continue to successfully implement green transformation policies in line with the policy of the United Nations Tourism Organization, Vietnam Tourism Association has chosen the theme for VITM Hanoi 2025 as: "Developing green destinations - Elevating Vietnam Tourism" to focus on developing Vietnam's tourism destinations to achieve the title of Green Tourism, contributing to enhancing the brand of Vietnam Tourism in terms of ensuring the environment, security, safety and attractiveness for tourists.

Activities at VITM Hanoi 2025 contribute to promoting localities and businesses to focus on building green destinations, green tourism products, training labor resources with knowledge of green tourism to contribute to raising the level of Vietnamese tourism, soon making tourism a green economic sector of Vietnam.

According to the Organizing Committee, 56 provinces and cities of Vietnam, 16 countries and territories have registered to participate in the Fair with over 450 booths of over 600 organizations and businesses, of which 15% are international booths. It is expected that 4,000 Vietnamese and international tourism businesses will come to work at the Fair.
