Opening of the 2024 National Youth Indoor Volleyball Championship

This evening, June 2, in Dong Ha City, the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri to organize the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Youth Indoor Volleyball Championship. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports Le Thi Hoang Yen; General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation Le Tri Truong attended the opening ceremony.

The 2024 National Youth Indoor Volleyball Championship will take place from June 2-15 at the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium; gathering more than 400 officials, coaches, and athletes from 25 men's and women's volleyball teams from provinces, cities, and sectors across the country.

In the men's volleyball event, there are 13 teams, including: Long An, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ben Tre, Border Guard, Khanh Hoa, The Cong - Tan Cang, Hai Duong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City Police, divided into 2 groups A and B; competing in a round robin to calculate points, selecting 8 teams with the highest, second, third and fourth highest scores in the 2 groups to compete in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

In the women's volleyball event, there are 12 teams, including: Long An, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, Information Corps, Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, VietinBank and Dak Lak, divided into 2 groups C and D; competing in a round robin to calculate points, selecting 8 teams with the highest, second, third and fourth highest scores in the 2 groups to compete in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

The National Youth Volleyball Championship is an official tournament in the 2024 High-Performance Sports Competition Plan of the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, organized annually to promote training and build a force of young volleyball athletes nationwide; train and nurture young talents, select excellent young athletes for the national youth team to participate in international youth tournaments; prepare successor forces for the national team; confirm team rankings and athlete promotion targets; at the same time create opportunities for young athletes to compete, exchange, learn and improve their techniques, tactics and competition experience.

The tournament is also an opportunity to introduce and promote beautiful images of the land and people of Quang Tri to domestic and international friends...
