On the morning of February 6th (the 9th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake), at the cable car station of Ngoa Van Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, Trai Loc village, An Sinh commune, Dong Trieu city, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Quang Ninh province, in coordination with the People's Committee of Dong Trieu city, organized the opening ceremony of the Ngoa Van Spring Festival 2025.
Ngoa Van is one of 14 important historical sites within the Tran Dynasty historical complex in Dong Trieu, which has been classified as a Special National Monument by the Prime Minister . This year, the ceremony included rituals praying for national peace and prosperity, drumming and bell ringing to inaugurate the festival...; and an incense offering ceremony at Ngoa Van Pagoda, a sacred site of Truc Lam Buddhism - where Emperor Tran Nhan Tong practiced asceticism and attained Buddhahood.
Following the ceremony, the festival will feature a variety of cultural, artistic, and sports activities, unique and distinctive folk games; and an area showcasing and selling typical OCOP products from 19 communes and wards in Dong Trieu City…
The Ngoa Van Spring Festival 2025 is organized to commemorate the great contributions and immense achievements of Emperor Tran Nhan Tong. The festival is also an opportunity to honor cultural and historical values and promote tangible and intangible cultural values. Through this, it contributes to raising community awareness of the importance of the Tran Dynasty National Special Historical Site in Dong Trieu – a cultural heritage associated with the prosperous dynasty and the achievements of the Emperor.
The Ngoa Van Spring Festival 2025 will run until the end of the third lunar month. During the festival, the Organizing Committee will regularly implement and maintain activities to ensure security and order, fire prevention and control, and medical plans so that visitors can have a safe spring festival experience when visiting the Ngoa Van sacred site.
