Total tourism revenue over 26,072 billion VND
On June 25, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said that according to statistics in June 2024, the total number of visitors staying in Khanh Hoa reached 1.3 million, an increase of 13% over the same period.
Of which, international visitors were over 370,000, up 54% over the same period; domestic visitors reached over 930,000, up 2.2% over the same period. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 6,053 billion VND, up 12% over the same period.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the total number of visitors reached nearly 5.2 million, an increase of 88% over the same period. Of which, international visitors are estimated at nearly 2.4 million, 3.2 times higher than the same period; domestic visitors are estimated at 2.8 million, an increase of 40% over the same period. Total tourism revenue is estimated at more than VND 26,072 billion, an increase of 97% over the same period.
According to the Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, international visitors are maintaining and growing strongly. Of which, Korea and China are the two largest international visitor markets of Khanh Hoa tourism, followed by Kazakhstan, Thailand, Malaysia, etc.
To achieve the above results, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said that since the beginning of 2024, Khanh Hoa tourism industry has implemented a series of tourism promotion programs in localities of China (Shanghai, Zhejiang), Kazakhstan, Thailand...
At the same time, organize to welcome foreign business delegations and travel agencies to survey Khanh Hoa tourism (Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia...)
“The Department of Tourism has coordinated with the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, tourism businesses in the province and airlines to research and develop tour programs, promotional combo travel packages, and preferential prices to stimulate demand and attract tourists to Khanh Hoa in 2024.
At the same time, working with Vietjet Air to propose opening direct flights to international markets to Khanh Hoa, Vietjet Air will focus on promoting, stimulating demand, and expanding routes from two important existing markets, China and Kazakhstan, and will study the implementation of opening direct or connecting flights to the markets of Japan, Australia and India in the last 6 months of 2024" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said.
Summer tourism expected to boom
To stimulate tourism, in the summer of 2024, Khanh Hoa will also organize the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival - Ever Glamour Nha Trang 2024 (EGN 2024). The Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 with the theme "Glorious Galaxy" is the first Drone light performance competition in Vietnam with 4 teams from Korea, China, France, UAE, each team performing with at least 1,000 drones.
Specifically, on July 13, the Opening Ceremony and the first competition night between the two teams Korea - China, with the theme "Nha Trang shines - Glamour Nha Trang" will be held at 2/4 Square, Nha Trang City.
On July 20, the second competition night between the two teams France and UAE, with the theme "Night of the Wonders" and the Closing Ceremony was held at Hon Tre Island - Vinpearl Harbor Nha Trang, Nha Trang City.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said that the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024 is an important event in the Khanh Hoa tourism stimulus strategy project for the period 2023-2025 and orientation to 2030.
The event is expected to help realize and shorten the time to position Khanh Hoa tourism brand - international standard through the formation of unique tourism products of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.
