International visitor numbers are growing well.

Total tourism revenue exceeded 26,072 billion VND.

On June 25th, the Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, announced that according to statistics for June 2024, the total number of overnight visitors to Khanh Hoa reached 1.3 million, an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year.

Of these, international visitors totaled over 370,000, a 54% increase compared to the same period last year; domestic visitors reached over 930,000, a 2.2% increase compared to the same period last year. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 6,053 billion VND, a 12% increase compared to the same period last year.

In the first six months of 2024, the total number of overnight visitors reached nearly 5.2 million, an increase of 88% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international visitors were estimated at nearly 2.4 million, 3.2 times higher than the same period last year; domestic visitors were estimated at 2.8 million, an increase of 40% compared to the same period last year. Total tourism revenue was estimated at over 26,072 billion VND, an increase of 97% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, international tourists are maintaining and experiencing strong growth. South Korea and China are the two largest international tourist markets for Khanh Hoa, followed by Kazakhstan, Thailand, Malaysia, and others.

To achieve these results, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh stated that, starting in early 2024, Khanh Hoa's tourism industry had implemented a series of tourism promotion and advertising programs in various locations in China (Shanghai, Zhejiang), Kazakhstan, Thailand, and other countries.

At the same time, the province organized visits for business delegations and travel agencies from foreign countries (South Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.) to survey tourism in Khanh Hoa.

“The Department of Tourism has coordinated with the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, tourism businesses in the province, and airlines to research and develop promotional tour programs and combo packages with preferential prices to stimulate demand and attract tourists to Khanh Hoa in 2024.”

"In parallel, we are working with Vietjet Air to propose opening direct flights from international markets to Khanh Hoa. Vietjet Air will focus on promoting, stimulating demand, and expanding routes from two existing important markets, China and Kazakhstan, and will study the possibility of opening direct or connecting flights to Japan, Australia, and India in the last six months of 2024," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh.

Summer tourism is expected to boom.

To stimulate tourism, during the summer of 2024, Khanh Hoa will also organize the Nha Trang International Light Festival – Ever Glamour Nha Trang 2024 (EGN 2024). The Nha Trang International Light Festival 2024, themed “Brilliant Galaxy,” is the first drone light show competition in Vietnam, featuring four competing teams from South Korea, China, France, and the UAE, each showcasing a minimum of 1,000 drones.

Specifically, on July 13th, the opening ceremony and the first competition night between the South Korean and Chinese teams, with the theme "Nha Trang Shines Bright - Glamour Nha Trang," will be held at 2/4 Square, Nha Trang City.

On July 20th, the second competition night between the French and UAE teams, with the theme "Night of the Wonders," and the closing ceremony will be held at Hon Tre Island – Vinpearl Harbour Nha Trang, Nha Trang City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh stated that the Nha Trang International Bay of Lights Festival 2024 is an important event in the Khanh Hoa tourism stimulus strategy plan for the period 2023-2025 and orientation towards 2030.

This event is expected to help realize and shorten the time needed to position Khanh Hoa tourism as an international-class brand through the creation of unique and distinctive tourism products for Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa.

At the same time, it combines with destination marketing efforts to create a positive impression on global tourists, meeting the expectations of locals, tourists, and domestic and international news agencies.

The event is expected to attract more than 50,000 residents and tourists attending in person each night, reaching over 20,000 viewers nationwide through national and local television channels, and millions of shares on social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

In addition to the events mentioned above, during the three summer months of 2024 in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, there will also be the WonderFest 2024 International Sea Festival, lasting throughout the summer at Vinpearl Harbour and VinWonders Nha Trang.

WonderFest brings together a series of vibrant entertainment and tourism events from day to night, including the Wonder Water War, a street culture festival, a cosplay festival, a beer festival, and a host of other exciting activities and shows every day…

In particular, the "Rise of the Ocean Princess" live action show, featuring the world's first stage entirely on the sea and spectacular performances combining dazzling fireworks, sound and light effects, and cutting-edge technology, promises to be an unmissable experience this summer.

Notably, from now until August 24, 2024, with the permission of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, VinWonders Nha Trang will have fireworks displays every day of the week. In particular, visitors will be able to enjoy high-altitude fireworks every Saturday and on public holidays.
