Ms. Pham Thi My, a travel agent at Mymy Travel, said that a month before the holiday, many customers had contacted to book hotel rooms for travel. In the North, many hotels in Cat Ba (Hai Phong), Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh... were no longer accepting guests. Room rates increased by 300,000 - 500,000 VND/night compared to normal days.

Ha Giang is also a tourist destination that attracts many visitors during this year's holiday. A representative of the Four Points by Sheraton Ha Giang hotel said that visitors started booking rooms for the holiday 2-3 weeks ago, so the hotel has had to turn down many groups that booked rooms late. Room rates here range around 1.8 million VND/night.

In the Central region, Four Points by Sheraton Danang hotel announced that the lowest price during the holiday is about 3.3 million VND/room/night, including tax, service charge and breakfast for 2 people - an increase of 10 - 15%.

"With the increase in customers, we have to increase our staff by arranging for more employees to work during the holidays, as well as stocking up on essentials to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service. Therefore, the cost level has changed," an official here explained.

According to a representative of the Sheraton Grand Danang Hotel, the hotel currently has very few rooms left and is expected to be filled in the next few days, due to the habit of Vietnamese tourists mostly booking close to their holidays. The price of accommodation here remains unchanged compared to normal days, ranging from 5 million VND/night.

Marriott International also has high occupancy rates at hotels and resorts in Nha Trang, Da Nang and Phu Quoc.

Surveys on many travel websites show that many hotels in some tourist destinations such as Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Vung Tau... all announced that they were fully booked or had only 1-2 slots left. Currently, 2-3 star quality accommodations have more vacant rooms.

On travel websites, many hotels are reported to be fully booked, with only 1-2 rooms left during the April 30-May 1 holiday.

This year, the number of tourists flocking to Ho Chi Minh City on April 30 is the highest because the city is holding activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Many hotels in Ho Chi Minh City have increased room rates and are soon fully booked.

For example, the Nikko Saigon Hotel's room rate is usually 3.3 million VND/night, but on November 30 and May 1, it increases to 4.3 million VND; The Reverie Saigon Hotel's room rate is usually 6.4 million VND/night, but today it increases to 10.1 million VND; Caravelle Hotel's room rate is usually 5 million VND/night, but now it increases to 9 million VND...

These are all 5-star hotels in the central area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City, a very convenient place to watch the parade pass by.

A representative of Le Méridien Saigon Hotel also announced that the hotel is currently fully booked and guests cannot book more rooms.

" With its location opposite the Saigon River, our hotel is a popular attraction for many tourists because they can directly watch fireworks from the hotel. To prepare for the sudden increase in guests during this holiday season, we are preparing a variety of activities throughout the hotel, from room packages, fireworks viewing packages to entertainment activities ," said a hotel representative.

Recently, talking about the status of accommodation facilities during the April 30 holiday, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that 1-star to 5-star hotels in District 1, District 4 and Ben Nha Rong area - where performing arts, parades, fireworks, light and culinary festivals are concentrated - at this time, room occupancy has reached 95 - 100%.

In particular, 4-5 star hotels reported full rooms from April 27 to May 1, which is the peak holiday season and the time when artistic activities take place to celebrate the great festival.

However, Ms. Hoa noted that only hotels in the central area, where the parade passed through, were fully booked; while neighboring districts still had rooms for tourists coming to the city during this holiday.

"HCMC still has many hotels in other districts. The room capacity is very large, ensuring that tourists can come to the city to have fun and relax during the peak holiday of April 30. We also coordinate with districts to update accommodation addresses for tourists.

Thus, if you cannot book a hotel room in the central area where the festival activities are held, visitors can choose to stay at hotels in District 3, District 5, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh, Thu Duc City... These places are concentrating many hotels with very diverse segments, reasonable prices, and very good service quality," said Ms. Hoa.
