European tourists searching for Vietnam increased sharply during the summer, most in Ho Chi Minh City

Specifically, according to search data from Agoda in April 2024, Malaysia recorded an 89% increase in searches. Japan ranked second with a 71% growth compared to the previous year. Vietnam ranked third, recording a 66% increase in searches from European travelers.

Vu Ngoc Lam, country director of Agoda Vietnam, said the increase in searches for Vietnam tourism in 2024 compared to the previous year shows the growing appeal of Vietnam to European tourists. In particular, more and more European tourists are choosing Vietnam as a summer vacation destination.

Some European countries with the highest number of searches for Vietnam tourism in April include France, Germany, UK, Netherlands and Spain.

Meanwhile, the three most sought-after destinations in Vietnam by European tourists are Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An and Nha Trang, offering the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure and culture.

These three destinations are also ideal choices for tourists who want to make the most of their long summer vacation in Vietnam.

In addition, as the European summer approaches, Asian tourist destinations, including Vietnam, are not only among the most popular destinations outside of Europe but also witness strong growth.

Agoda recorded a 52% increase in accommodation searches by European travelers in April for their Asia travel itineraries this summer.
