Overcoming the "loopholes" leading to corruption and waste in the trade union system

Accordingly, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requires trade unions at all levels to review, amend and supplement regulations related to personnel work, financial management and use, and trade union economic activities to limit and overcome "loopholes" that can easily lead to corruption and waste.

Trade unions at all levels raise awareness, responsibility, capacity and effectiveness in participating in giving opinions and social criticism on draft policies and on areas prone to corruption and waste such as: Laws and policies on land management; personnel work; regulations related to the mechanism of assignment, decentralization, and determination of responsibilities between agencies, organizations and individuals: Public administrative procedures; public finance...

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that in 2025, it will step up inspection of trade union financial activities.

Trade unions at all levels develop plans to report to the standing committee to organize regular and unscheduled monitoring activities to prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negativity that cause harassment and annoyance to people and businesses.

Along with that, trade unions at all levels need to strengthen the inspection of the management of finance, assets, and career and economic activities of the trade union, and inspect the work of trade union cadres. Timely handle complaints, denunciations, and feedback sent to the Vietnam Trade Union. Based on receiving feedback, trade unions at all levels must promptly make recommendations to responsible agencies to resolve and publicize the results.
