Due to the large number of vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, a section of My Xuan - Ngai Giao road has been severely damaged, causing traffic safety problems.
On February 18, based on feedback from local residents, Giao Thong Newspaper reporters were present at My Xuan - Ngai Giao route, through Trang Cat quarter, Hac Dich ward, Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to record the serious damage here.

According to actual records, the severely damaged section extends over 300m in both directions. Many locations have large potholes, uneven road surfaces, and even deep holes that pose a danger to road users. Especially at night or when it rains, stagnant water makes travel even more difficult, posing a high risk of accidents.

Mr. Nguyen Van Viet, a resident of this area, indignantly said that recently the number of vehicles passing through here has been very high, especially trucks and dump trucks carrying materials. Therefore, the road surface has deteriorated rapidly, and the potholes are getting bigger and bigger. Every time it rains, water accumulates, and if you are not careful on the road, you can slip and fall at any time. It is very dangerous for people, especially women, children and students, to pass through here.
Many large trucks travel through My Xuan - Ngai Giao route, so the road is degraded.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh, a local resident, said that in the past, the units also repaired but patched one place, damaged another. Temporary repairs with crushed stone can make traveling easier, but if there is no long-term solution to reinforce the road structure, after a while, the potholes will reappear.
“We hope that the authorities will come up with the best repair plan so that people do not have to worry every time they pass through this road. This situation has been going on for a long time, greatly affecting people’s lives and activities. There have been many cases of motorcyclists slipping and falling due to potholes, and even cars wobbling when passing through here,” Ms. Anh shared.
According to local people, the cause of the severe road damage is due to the heavy traffic, especially vehicles serving construction projects intersecting with the road.
Many small vehicles have difficulty passing through the damaged section on the My Xuan - Ngai Giao route.
Faced with the above situation, sharing with Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Vo Cong Giang, Deputy General Director of 479 Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company, the contractor of the overpass on Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway intersecting with My Xuan - Ngai Giao road, said that the contractor has received feedback and committed to fixing it today.
“We will level the road surface and pour 100 cubic meters of crushed stone to temporarily restore the road surface, helping people travel more safely. In addition, the unit will also carry out periodic maintenance to maintain the quality of the road surface in the coming time,” said Mr. Giang.
In addition to repairing the damaged section at Km36, the contractor will also repair another section at Km40 (Road 81) to ensure smooth traffic.
Highway 81 was also damaged when it was plowed by a large vehicle.
“We also hope that people will sympathize because the repair process may cause some temporary inconvenience. We are committed to speeding up the progress and completing it as soon as possible to limit the impact on people's travel,” Mr. Giang affirmed.
It is known that the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway overpass project is an important part of the development of infrastructure and the region's economy, but the construction process may temporarily affect people's lives.
Therefore, it is necessary for contractors to proactively fix the problem and ensure the quality of the project. People expect that after the repair, the degraded condition of the road will be improved.
