Students of Nam Sai Gon High School (District 7) participate in the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Olympic competition

The 2025 Traditional Olympic Competition organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training took place on April 9 with the participation of about 3,000 10th and 11th graders from about 150 public and non-public high schools (on average, each school selected 30 students with a regulation of 3 students/subject). Candidates took written exams in math, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, history, geography, economic education and law, English, Japanese, French, and Chinese. Foreign languages included a listening test. In information technology, candidates took a computer programming test.
Statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City show that 59 high schools have students winning first prizes in the Olympic competition, of which 9 are non-public schools, including:
Top public high schools include: Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Gia Dinh, Bui Thi Xuan, Nguyen Huu Huan... Of which, Nguyen Huu Huan High School has 8 first prizes, 21 second prizes, 27 third prizes.
Top 2 schools include Marie Curie High School, Tay Thanh, Nam Sai Gon, Vo Thi Sau, Tran Khai Nguyen...
Among them, Nam Sai Gon High School (District 7) had 37 students winning prizes, 3 times more than last year and for the first time had a student winning first prize (in informatics, economiceducation and law) of the competition.
Non-public schools with students winning first prizes include: Le Thanh Tong Secondary and High School, Nguyen Khuyen, Van Lang, Albert Einstein, Ngo Thoi Nhiem...
According to regulations, the percentage of students winning prizes in the Ho Chi Minh City Olympic competition does not exceed 60% of the total number of contestants, of which the first prize does not exceed 5% of the total number of prizes. Students who win prizes will be awarded certificates.
