Vietnam football results on March 29: Tien Linh shines, Binh Duong enters semi-finals

Vietnam football results today, March 29, received attention with the match between Binh Duong and Ninh Binh in the quarter-finals of the 2024/2025 National Cup.

Facing Binh Duong away, Ninh Binh chose a defensive counter-attacking style of play in the first minutes of the match. In the first 10 minutes, the match took place at an average pace as Binh Duong dominated the game but had little space to launch attacks.

Although they did not control the ball much, Ninh Binh was the first dangerous team. Dinh Thanh Binh crossed the ball into the 16m50 area, but in a very open position with no one to mark him, Gia Hung's shot was too inaccurate, missing the opportunity to score the opening goal.

Binh Duong's most dangerous chance came from Viet Cuong's shot in the 30th minute with a quick shot from the 16m50 line but the ball went wide of the post. At the end of the first half, Binh Duong had a notable opportunity when they were awarded a direct free kick right near the 16m50 area. Minh Trong had a tricky free kick when he sent the ball low into the far corner but Dang Van Lam promptly dived to block it.

In the second half, Binh Duong was the team with more dangerous situations. From a cross from the left wing in the 54th minute, the ball hit the post and Tien Linh rushed in to shoot, although the distance was only about 5m from the goal, Tien Linh kicked the ball straight into the sky.

Just 6 minutes later, Binh Duong deployed the ball from the right wing. The ball was passed to Viet Cuong's position but the final shot was excellently blocked by Dang Van Lam.

Binh Duong opened the scoring with a central combination right in front of the 16m50 area. Viet Cuong flicked his heel for Tien Linh to finish, sending the ball dangerously, causing goalkeeper Dang Van Lam to dive very quickly but still be unable to block it.

Just 4 minutes later, after Trung Hieu's shot, Dang Van Lam pushed the ball but it was right in Minh Khoa's position. After a push, Minh Khoa shot close to the goal, making Van Lam unable to block. After consulting VAR, the referee recognized the goal for Binh Duong.

The match became more dramatic when Ninh Binh scored an equalizer in the 84th minute. From a cross from the right wing, Hai Duc jumped high and headed the ball into the far corner, leaving goalkeeper Minh Toan unable to watch.

At the 90+4 minute, the referee determined that goalkeeper Minh Toan committed a foul in the penalty area. After consulting VAR, the referee determined that Ninh Binh was awarded a penalty. On the penalty spot, Hoang Duc took a panelka kick to equalize for Ninh Binh. The score in the official match time was 2-2, the two teams entered the penalty shootout to determine the winner.

In the penalty shootout, Hai Duc was the only player to miss. Binh Duong won, thereby advancing to the semi-finals of the 2024/2025 National Cup.
