Connect and agree on cooperation in lychee consumption

Attending the event were representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, localities, corporations, commercial centers, supermarket systems, e-commerce platforms, logistics enterprises, railway transport units, express delivery units; enterprises, cooperatives, gardeners producing, processing, and consuming lychees in and outside the province.

According to the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, up to now, localities and people in the lychee growing areas in the province have been proactive and ready to prepare conditions with the motto of producing, processing and consuming lychees that ensure the highest quality, superiority, unique characteristics, and meet food safety and hygiene standards. At the same time, Bac Giang province is committed to continuing to create the most favorable conditions to support lychee growers, businesses, and domestic and foreign traders in the work of harvesting, processing and consuming lychees.

Through this conference, the Department requested commercial centers, supermarkets, wholesale markets, traditional markets and e-commerce platforms, businesses, traders consuming agricultural products, lychees to connect, sign contracts with businesses, cooperatives, production groups, gardeners to consume lychees in Bac Giang province. Timely make recommendations to the competent agencies of Bac Giang province on difficulties and obstacles in the process of purchasing, consuming and exporting lychees.

Delegates witnessed the signing of agreements between businesses, cooperatives, and gardeners of Bac Giang province and express delivery units to transport and consume lychees.

Shopping centers, supermarket systems, and convenience stores expand their purchasing networks, prioritizing the distribution of lychees in retail systems and large supermarkets; bringing the freshest products to consumers. Wholesale markets and traditional markets in provinces and cities across the country promote purchasing activities with gardeners, cooperatives, and production enterprises to ensure a stable supply, creating favorable conditions for farmers to consume products.

We recommend that logistics and express delivery units pay attention to researching preservation solutions; cooperate with distribution centers, trading companies, wholesalers, and retailers at home and abroad to build specialized logistics and express delivery chains for lychees and other agricultural products at reasonable costs, shortening the time for fresh lychees to reach consumers every day.

At the conference, many opinions said that although the rate of flowering and fruiting of lychees this year is high, the biggest concern is the lack of irrigation water. For many months now, there has been very little rain in the province. Some lychee trees in the highlands have died due to drought. To overcome this, the Department of Agriculture is focusing on providing guidance on care measures, strictly controlling agricultural inputs for production, managing growing area codes; and promptly forecasting the situation of pests and diseases.

In addition, some delegates provided transportation services, applied preferential rates; prepared materials for the lychee season; and recommended the need for high technology in preservation and processing to increase the value of lychees.

Based on the understanding of the crop situation and actual surveys, on this occasion, enterprises, cooperatives, production, transportation and consumption units of lychee organized the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement and cooperation in the consumption of lychee in Bac Giang province in 2025.

Within the framework of the conference, the organizing committee organized a booth displaying typical agricultural products of the province.

It is known that in 2025, Bac Giang province will continue to maintain concentrated lychee production areas with 29,700 hectares. The expected time for early lychee harvest is from May 20, 2025 to June 15, 2025; the main crop lychee is from June 10, 2025 to July 20, 2025.
