The Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway system, Phan Thiet airport and the National Highway 1A upgrade project have been put into operation, contributing to making Binh Thuan the center of the “golden tourist quadrangle” including: Ho Chi Minh City – Phan Thiet – Da Lat and Nha Trang.
Traffic congestion in the "golden tourist quadrangle" has been opened.
With these advantages, in recent years, the wave of investment in high-end resorts and entertainment areas by a series of large domestic and foreign corporations has made the Ham Tien - Mui Ne area and other areas of Binh Thuan province more attractive to international tourists. Current reality shows that Binh Thuan has had many large, important, modern traffic works invested in and completed and put into use with positive effects, especially recently, many important, large-scale foreign and domestic traffic works have been and are accelerating investment and construction. In particular, the two routes, National Highway 28 and 28B connecting Binh Thuan and Lam Dong, have been invested in renovation and upgrading in recent years, but are not yet worthy of promoting their effectiveness. Highway 28 was upgraded and renovated for 42 km from Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan) to Di Linh district (Lam Dong) and completed and put into use in 2007, contributing to promoting traffic and trade between Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces. Highway 28B, a section passing through the province with a length of more than 51 km, was formerly the official road of Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant. After being upgraded to Highway 28B by the Ministry of Transport, the repair and maintenance conditions have received more attention. This is the shortest route connecting Binh Thuan and Lam Dong and the Central Highlands region. In the near future, this route will be upgraded and expanded to a length of about 68 km, with a total investment of 1,435 billion VND from the state budget, in order to contribute to the development of the local socio-economy, connecting the coastal provinces of the South Central Coast with the Central Highlands.
In recent years, the provincial roads have also received investment attention. Accordingly, the coastal axis road with a length of 237 km has been invested in asphalting, this is a very important traffic route running along the length of the province's coastline to develop tourism and services. The urban traffic system of Phan Thiet City has also received investment attention such as: Route DT 716, DT 719, DT 706B, the road from Hung Vuong bridge to Road 706B, Ton Duc Thang Street, Le Duan Street... provincial roads, district roads have also been invested in upgrading and expanding. Since the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 03, dated March 16, 2011 on promoting the development of rural traffic, it has also mobilized large resources from the people to build rural traffic. Up to now, 1,277/4,764 cement concrete roads have been invested, contributing greatly to changing the face of the countryside, significantly improving the travel and production conditions of the people. Up to this point, the traffic system from the district to the commune centers, villages, and hamlets has been connected and 100% of communes have car roads to the district center.
Port development
It can be seen that one of the important conditions to contribute to socio-economic development is the development of the transport system. In the current new period, the need for transport development is even more urgent, with a higher goal, which is to create a breakthrough development to turn Binh Thuan into a center of socio-economic development in the region. Therefore, according to the transport development strategy in the province, it will not stop at developing road, air and rail transport, but also continue to develop sea transport to meet the requirements of the industrialization and modernization cause, linking local transport with national and international transport, creating a smooth connection and reasonable transport costs, in line with the current trend. Previously, Binh Thuan did not have a seaport but only had the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy sea route. To develop according to the current trend, Binh Thuan province has now formed 3 seaports, namely Phu Quy port, Phan Thiet transport port and Vinh Tan international general port, which are operating effectively. Phu Quy port is currently receiving cargo ships with a capacity of up to 1,000 tons and is constructing and renovating the breakwater, dredging the channel to accommodate 2,000 DWT ships, and is the main gateway connecting Phu Quy island district with the mainland. Phan Thiet transport port has a scale of receiving ships up to 1,000 tons, and has completed a number of port items to serve passenger and cargo transportation well. Vinh Tan International General Port has put into operation a 3,000 DWT berth and a 50,000 DWT berth to combine with Phan Thiet transport port and Phu Quy port, meeting the needs of transport, export and import of goods, improving transport capacity, reducing logistics costs, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the economy, helping to remove bottlenecks in foreign traffic, promoting socio-economic development of the province and neighboring provinces in the South Central and Central Highlands regions...
