At the conference, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ninh Binh province introduced the province's potential, strengths, typical key products, and OCOP products. Accordingly, although the land area and scale of agricultural production in the province are not large, the province's agricultural products are very rich and diverse. Production and processing activities have also been invested in and developed with a variety of products, of which vegetable and fruit processing is considered a strength. Currently, the province has nearly 200 establishments, enterprises and cooperatives participating in the processing of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products. By the end of 2024, the province has 209 products ranked OCOP, including 142 3-star products and 67 4-star products.
In recent years, Ninh Binh tourism has developed strongly, in 2024, the whole province welcomed 8.7 million visitors. Tourism development helps stimulate demand for OCOP products, agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products.
At the conference, agricultural production and processing units shared their capabilities and introduced their products to commercial enterprises, restaurants, hotels, and tourist areas. In return, tourism units also discussed the requirements and standards for agricultural products to be included in the system.
Delegates all affirmed that direct connection between agricultural producers and restaurants, hotels, and tourist areas without intermediaries will help reduce costs, increase income for sellers, and also improve the quality of input food.
Many tourism units have affirmed their willingness to dedicate space to display OCOP specialty products of localities so that each tourist coming to Ninh Binh will not only visit but also enjoy a variety of specialties, cultural characteristics, and cuisine of Ninh Binh and all regions of the country.
On this occasion, the delegates witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Restaurant Association, Ninh Binh Province Tourism Association and establishments, enterprises, cooperatives producing, processing, and trading agricultural, forestry, fishery, and food products in Ninh Binh Province; signing between representatives of commercial enterprises of the provinces and establishments, enterprises, cooperatives producing, processing, and trading agricultural, forestry, fishery, and food products in Ninh Binh Province on promoting, expanding consumption, and bringing the brand of Ninh Binh agricultural products into the system.
