The "Cuu Long River Delta Innovation Forum" in Tra Vinh attracted many experts, creatives, and businesses, aiming to promote sustainable development.
On the afternoon of December 3, Tra Vinh University organized the Forum “ Innovation in the Mekong Delta: Inventors from practice ”, attracting the participation of many experts, inventors and business representatives. The event was jointly organized by Tra Vinh University, the National Innovation Center (NIC), the Vietnam Invention Association and other partners, aiming to bring practical value to the Mekong Delta region.
The forum was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Invention Association and Director of the Institute for Invention Development and Technology Innovation, along with leaders of agencies, experts, inventors and representatives of enterprises inside and outside the province. The Board of Directors of Tra Vinh University was also present to attend with a large number of students.
Speaking at the forum, Associate Professor, Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, emphasized the important role of innovation in improving the quality of life and production efficiency. He said that innovation needs to come from practice and meet the needs of the community. Although amateur invention ideas from daily life face many difficulties, they open up great opportunities for creativity.
“ The forum is an opportunity to honor successful invention ideas, and at the same time continue and support new ideas from the embryonic stage. The goal that Tra Vinh University is aiming for is to become the innovation center of the Mekong Delta community, ” said Associate Professor, Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice President of Tra Vinh University.
At the forum, inventors consulted and shared difficulties and challenges in the startup process with students of Tra Vinh University; at the same time, they inspired students to have a passion for creativity and boldly implement startup ideas.
Mr. Hoang Thanh Liem, the author of the invention "Rice bagging machine", who has won more than 10 awards in the field of invention, shared: " An inventor not only creates breakthrough products but also a journey of perseverance, a spirit of continuous learning and innovation ."
He affirmed that success lies not only in the destination but also in overcoming each challenge to turn ideas into reality in life. Participating in the Forum at Tra Vinh University, Mr. Liem compared the feeling to conquering Mount Olympia, a place that gathers practical inventors and promising young talents.
This is not only a playground to challenge knowledge and skills, but also an opportunity to spread the spirit of innovation and creativity, strongly inspiring the community, students and startups.
The inventions introduced at the forum are highly applicable, such as a chili salt dryer, a large-capacity garden water filter, an automatic shrimp feeder, a 2-in-1 improved pineapple machine, a household waste treatment system, and the application of IoT technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in seedling care.
On this occasion, Tra Vinh University and the Vietnam Invention Association signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of science and technology, especially intellectual property and innovation.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of products from "non-professional" inventors, with many unique solutions such as the Wet Salt and Chili Dryer that helps improve food processing efficiency; the High-capacity garden water filter that improves irrigation efficiency; and the Automatic Shrimp Feeder that optimizes the shrimp farming process. Products such as the 2-in-1 Improved Pineapple Dryer or the Household Waste Treatment System also received special attention from the business community.
In addition, the inventors shared inspiring stories about their journey from idea to actual product. The difficulties they encountered on the path to starting a business became valuable lessons for the attendees, especially students and startups.
Mr. Huynh Van Be, owner of Ngoc Yen dried salt production facility, shared: “ We see great potential from the inventions at this forum, opening up opportunities to connect values to serve the sustainable development of the region .” He also conveyed the message that all problems can change in a positive direction if we dare to look at and change.
During the open discussion, delegates discussed innovative solutions in agriculture, aquaculture and waste treatment. The forum not only introduced products but also created a space for connecting universities, research institutes and the business community.
With the aim of inspiring innovation and promoting sustainable development, the forum contributes to orienting the role of the Mekong Delta in developing solutions that are closely linked to local realities. Experts emphasize that this is an important step forward in addressing challenges such as climate change and environmental pollution.
The forum marks an important step forward in building an innovation ecosystem in the Mekong Delta, inspiring creativity from real life. Through this forum, many inventors have the opportunity to connect with businesses and experts to continue to perfect and implement breakthrough ideas into reality.
