According to Thanh Nien Newspaper, Hanoi Police Club (CAHN Club) has supported Jason Quang Vinh with paperwork and legal procedures and made efforts to speed up the progress until the last days, close to the deadline for submitting the preliminary list for the AFF Cup 2024 to help the player born in 1997 be able to join the Vietnam national team for the most important tournament of the year. However, due to remaining problems, plus the urgent paperwork deadline, Jason Quang Vinh was not able to obtain Vietnamese nationality before the AFF Cup 2024.

The tournament took place from December 9 and yesterday, the teams completed their preliminary lists and sent them to the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF).
In 2023, CAHN Club also provided legal support and paperwork for goalkeeper Nguyen Filip to have Vietnamese nationality. The goalkeeper, born in 1992, returned to Vietnam in May 2023, then promoted naturalization and did not have citizenship until December 2023. Meanwhile, Jason Quang Vinh only returned to Vietnam last July, so it is difficult to expect the 27-year-old defender to soon possess Vietnamese nationality.

However, the naturalization procedure for Jason Quang Vinh will still be carried out. In a favorable case, Jason Quang Vinh can have Vietnamese nationality before March 2025, then be called up to the Vietnam national team to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Jason Quang Vinh's class has been confirmed. He played for Sochaux in Ligue 2 (France's second division) for 6 years, then moved to the US to play for New York Red Bulls for 3 years (2020 - 2022). Returning to France in 2022, Jason Quang Vinh played for Quevilly Rouen, a team also in the French second division. The 27-year-old defender played 65 matches in Ligue 2 in just 2 years.
