Israel is also continuing to bomb the Gaza Strip from land, sea and air in its campaign to crush Hamas. Meanwhile, Palestinians are searching for victims trapped in the rubble after Israel's attack on Jabalia, Gaza's largest refugee camp. "It's a massacre," said one witness.

The Israeli military said its warplanes struck a Hamas command complex in Jabalia "based on precise intelligence", killing the head of the Islamist group's anti-tank missile unit, Muhammad A'sar.
“Hamas deliberately builds terrorist infrastructure under, around and inside civilian buildings, deliberately endangering Gaza civilians,” an Israeli statement said.
“Given the high number of civilian casualties and the scale of destruction following Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp, we are deeply concerned that these disproportionate attacks may constitute war crimes,” the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights wrote on social media.
There was no immediate figure from Gaza authorities on casualties from Wednesday’s attack on the refugee camp. Palestinian health officials said the first Israeli air strike on Tuesday killed about 50 people, including Ibrahim Biari, who has been described as the ringleader of the October 7 massacre in Israel.
In another development, a number of foreign nationals stranded in Gaza since the start of hostilities were taken through the Rafah border crossing to Egypt, including passport holders from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Specifically, on Wednesday, at least 320 foreign passport holders from an initial list of 500 as well as dozens of seriously injured Gazans left, following an agreement between Egypt, Israel and Hamas.
Gaza border officials said the border would reopen on Thursday to allow more foreign passport holders to leave. A diplomatic source briefed on Egypt's plans said about 7,500 foreign passport holders would be evacuated from Gaza in about two weeks.
