According to coach Jesus Casas, Amjad Attwan did not recover from his injury in time to participate in the match against the Vietnamese team. The head coach of Iraq shared: "Amjad Attwan missed the match against Indonesia. The doctors said he was not fit enough to play. In the end, I decided not to use Amjad Attwan.
Amjad Attwan's injury is not too serious but we cannot take risks with his condition. Therefore, Amjad Attwan will not participate in the match against the Vietnamese team."
The absence of Amjad Attwan is a big loss for the West Asian team. Not only is he the captain, this midfielder is also an important link in the midfield. He possesses excellent tactical vision and passing ability.
In the list announced by coach Jesus Casas alone, Iraq lost three players due to injury. Along with Amjad Attwan, center-back Saad Natiq and midfielder Danilo Al Saed are all unable to play.
